Welcome to the Hops and Spokes Mountain Bike Classic, held at the beautiful El Dorado Ranch Park in Yucaipa, California!This one-of-a-kind event blends the thrill of endurance mountain biking with the camaraderie of craft beer culture.Solo riders will take on a 6-hour looped course, winding through rugged trails, rolling terrain, and scenic views that showcase the best of Yucaipa’s natural landscape. Whether you’re racing for the podium or just out to challenge yourself and have fun, this course is built to test your endurance, skill, and spirit.When the dust settles, the celebration begins! Join us for the awards ceremony and after-party at Hops and Spokes Brewery, where riders, friends, and families can raise a glass to an incredible day on the trails. Expect good music, great beer, and the unbeatable community vibe that makes this event so special.So gear up, dig deep, and get ready to ride — the Hops and Spokes Mountain Bike Classic is where endurance meets enjoyment, and every lap tells a story.4-Person Relay Team Description:Teams of four riders will compete in a relay-style format, with only one rider allowed on the course at a time. Riders must exchange at the designated start/finish area before the next teammate begins their lap. Team strategy and timing are key—each rider’s lap contributes to the team’s total distance and time.Pre Race:Bib pick up will be on race morning beginning at 6:30 am. Please arrive early to check in! Please be ready at the race start line by 7:45 am! Race Day:Race location: El Dorado Ranch Park in Yucaipa, CA. 37186 Oak Glen Rd. Yucaipa, CA 92399 Parking is free and located at the park entrance. Bathrooms are available on site near the parking lot. Mandatory Items:All riders must wear proper safety gear. Racer Information:Crew is allowed near the start/finish line. There is a nice grass area that is perfect to have a crew set up covering, chairs, etc. Crew is also allowed out on the course, however we ask that they please stay out of the riders way at all times. Aid station will be located at the start/finish line. There will be different food and drink options. Please bring any specific fuel you are used in training. Cut-off for last lap will be strictly 2:00 pm. All racers can finish their last lap as long as they begin the lap before 2:00 pm. Course Information:Course has not changed due to recent storms and the weather looks perfect! Changing riders for the relay must be completed at the start/finish line. NO exceptions. A race where the rules are simple—but the consequences are absolute.Each hour, on the hour, runners must complete a 4.167 mile loop of unforgiving terrain before the bell rings again. When it does, all who remain must return to the start… and face the next lap.Finish the loop before the hour ends… or be cast asideMiss the bell… and you’re claimed by the nightChoose to quit… and Krampus takes noteThe strong may last through the early hours.The stubborn will survive the long night.But only one will endure the wrath.As the race stretches into darkness, the festive glow fades into something more primal. ’Twas the Night of Krampus’Twas the night of Krampus, when all through the course,Not a runner was resting, of course not—of course.The loops had been measured with merciless care,In hopes that pure grit soon would fill the cold air.The runners were pacing, legs heavy with dread,While visions of quitting crept into each head.With headlamps askew and resolve hanging thin,They whispered, “One more lap… just one more, then.”When out on the trail there arose such a sound,A scraping of hooves as darkness came round.Away to the switchbacks I shuffled with fright,To see what emerged in the pale moonlight.The glow of red eyes and the clank of a chain,Revealed Krampus himself—here to judge joy and pain.He sneered at the weak and the voices that plead,For this was a race where resolve is decreed.“Now QUITTERS are naughty,” he roared with a grin,“They bargain with comfort, they fold from within.They whine about blisters, the cold, and the night—To the coal sack with them! 8 Hour Loop Course

Welcome to year 2 of the Wildwood Canyon Trail Runs!Nestled in the rolling hills of Yucaipa, CA, Wildwood Canyon State Park (12241 Canyon Dr. Yucaipa, CA 92399) is a hidden gem bursting with natural beauty and adventure! This expansive park offers a breathtaking blend of rugged canyons, sweeping meadows, and oak-studded hillsides that change with the season. On a gorgeous 3.7 mile loop with almost 600ft of vertical gain per loop, you will experience the very best that Wildwood Canyon has to offer! Runners will have 8 hours to complete as many loops as possible. Last loop must be started at the 7 hour and 15 minute mark to continue with last loop!Check-In Begins at 6:30 a.m. We will have multiple vendors onsite and a live Bluegrass Band playing from 6:30-8:00 a.m.Race will begin at 8:00 a.m.Awards will immediately follow the end of the race at the start/finish line.
