Salute to Service 5K and Kid's Mile
Presented by Tidewater Striders and City of Suffolk Parks and Recreation
Join us as we celebrate all of those who served our great country!
Race Start- Festival Park 215 W Washington Suffolk Va 23434
COURSE: Fast, flat course in downtown Suffolk
FLUIDS AND FOOD: There will be 1 aid station with water at about the 1.5 mark.
AMENITIES & POST-RACE: All 5k & 1 Mile registered runners will receive a Premium T-Shirt & All finishers will receive Medals. Onsite hospitality & refreshments including After-party with live Band, Beer, Pizza, Snacks, and Cold Beverages
PACKET PICKUPS: Early Packet Pickup will be at Momac Brewering Company on Friday, November 8th, 3 pm-6 pm
Race Day Packet Pickup will be from 7-7:50 am for 5K & 7-9 am for the mile on Race Day by the starting area.
RACE TIMES: The 5k race starts at 8 AM and the 1 mile starts at approx 9:15 am
AWARDS: 5K Race: Top 3 OVERALL Male and Female, and Top 3 Male and Female in age groups (12 & Under, 13 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70+ will receive awards! Top 3 Walkers Male and Female will also receive awards.
1 Mile: The top 3 Males and Females in age groups (6 & Under, 7 to 9, 10 to 12, and 13 & Over) will receive awards.
MILITARY TEAMS: We are having a Military team competition between the different branches! we will have the largest team competition and fastest team competition, for the fastest team the top 3 males & females for each service team count for scoring! To be eligible for a service team for the fastest team you would have to served in that branch for the largest team you are eligible if you or a family member served in that branch!
REGISTRATION: Registration will be open until 7 a.m. on Race Day.
STRIDER PLUS/LEGACY RUNNERS: Discount automatically applied at checkout through Race Day.
CLUB MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNTS: A Club membership discount of $5.00 is available up through Race Day. Discounts are automatically applied on the payment page during registration. You should use the account you used to register for the club to apply for this discount. We will also attempt to match on name/date of birth.
