The Sewickley Classic 5K is a new spring tradition built around running, walking, and bringing people together in the heart of Sewickley.

Taking place in May 2026, the event features a scenic, fast 5K road race through the village, along with additional run and walk options, youth activities, and a post-race community festival. Whether you’re chasing a PR, pushing a stroller, walking with friends, or just here for the celebration, there’s a place for you.

The morning culminates at War Memorial Park, where runners, families, neighbors, and local businesses come together for food, music, activities, and a shared sense of community pride. The Sewickley Classic is designed to be welcoming, energetic, and local at its core—an event that feels just as much like a neighborhood gathering as it does a race.

Proceeds from the event benefit Laughlin Children’s Center, supporting vital programs that serve children and families throughout the region.

    Participants will be divided by gender and age to allow for more competitive races. Inflatables and other fun activities will be set up on the infield for youth to enjoy either before or after they have competed.

    After a brief layover in 2025, the FlyBy 5K and 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk returns for its ninth year in 2026! This unique course gives participants exclusive access to run through the taxiways of Pittsburgh International Airport, a true behind-the-scenes look and a side of the airport few get to see.

    This family-friendly race makes it possible for everyone to race the airport grounds and earn their wings! There are two options to participate: the 5K (a timed 3.1-mile course) and the 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk (untimed), so there's something for everyone. Children younger than 4 years old can register for free.

    Proceeds from the FlyBy 5K and 2‑Mile Fun Run/Walk support the Allegheny County Airport Authority Charitable Foundation.

    *Children aged 4 or younger on race day can register at no charge; however, due to FAA requirements for who can be on the property, these children must be officially registered for the event and wear their assigned race bib to identify them as event participants.
