Get ready to hit the trail and support a great cause at The Cattle Drive 5K, brought to you by the Plowboy 100 Club! 🐄👟 Join us on March 21 on the beautiful Stephenville City Park Bosque River trail in Stephenville, Texas for a community-wide 5K run/walk that’s fun for all ages — from seasoned runners to families with little ones.

This spirited event isn’t just about the run — it’s a benefit for the Tarleton State Plowboys, one of the university’s oldest and most dedicated spirit organizations. Known for sporting cowboy hats, white shirts, and purple chaps, the Plowboys bring energy and pride to athletic events, campus traditions, and community activities year-round. They’re famous for supporting Tarleton Texans at games and rallies and helping build and light the enormous L.V. Risinger Bonfire each homecoming season — all while giving back through service and school spirit.

Whether you’re racing for a new personal best, walking with friends, or cheering on family members, The Cattle Drive 5K is a perfect way to celebrate community, support student-led tradition, and enjoy a morning of fitness and fun. Lace up, bring your cowboy spirit, and let’s make this year’s run one to remember! 🐂

Can’t get up that early? Don’t sweat it!!! Show your support from the comfort of home in your pjs! Registrants will receive a t-shirt but will not be assigned a bib or be eligible for awards. Your packet will be sent to you or available at race day packet pick up. You must be registered by March 18.

    The Mountain Lakes Ranch Social Committee is excited to kick off the fifth 5K/10K Mountain Lakes Mania. This is one of the most challenging 10K courses in Texas! The race will begin at the Fitness Track on Beacon Lake Drive. All race proceeds directly support the social events at MLR. These events include the quarterly breakfasts, summer picnic, game nights and holiday celebrations. This event features an early registration themed race shirt, provides official chip time results by RACE DAY EVENT SERVICES, and takes participants on a challenging scenic route through MLR.

    Registration:

    Pre-registration (before October 27th)

    10K: $30 per person ages 12 and up; t-shirt guaranteed (11 and under $25)

    5K: $25 per person ages 12 and up; t-shirt guaranteed (11 and under $20)

    After October 27th and race day registration:

    10K: $35 per person ages 12 and up; no t-shirt (11 and under $30)

    5K: $30 per person ages 12 and up; no t-shirt (11 and under $25)

    We will have a 1 Mile fun run, 5K and 10K this year! Along with Live music, Cornhole tournament, jump houses, food trucks, vendors and more!

    ​Monk Strong Memorial was formed in honor of Justin Monk. Justin, a former Marine with the United States Marine Corps was diagnosed with brain and spinal cancer in 2019. He later succumbed to this cancer in 2023. Justin wanted nothing more than to help others, he dedicated his life to serving those in need. After serving in the Marine Corps, Justin came home and earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing and worked as an RN at the Hamilton hospital for 7 years. Justin was also a member of a small Church of Christ in Stephenville, TX. Justin left behind a legacy that can’t be matched, he was kind, loyal, honest, and proud. He always stood up for what he believed in, and what is right. His motto was God, family, and hard work!

    We are honoring his memory by hosting a yearly​ run and more event. The money raised is to help serve those who serve others! He left behind a S.P.E.C.I.A.L legacy that his family and friends plan to carry on.
