Real People Helping People 5K, 10K & 2.5 Mile Trail Races Join us for the Real People Helping People Race — a family-friendly trail running event that combines scenic courses with meaningful community impact. This event kicks off early from the Durty Dabber Pavilion in McElhattan, Pennsylvania, and brings together runners of all abilities to support youth programming and local athletes. Proceeds benefit the Haven Summer Youth Program, which feeds children lunch, keeps them active, and fosters community and relationships during the summer months. A portion of proceeds also supports the Central Mountain Cross Country team.Runners who register by August 24th are guaranteed a T-shirt, and race-day registration opens at 7:30AM (donation required). Food will be provided for racers after the event — and bystanders are welcome with a $10 donation. 10K Trail (Challenging • ~1500' Elevation Gain) This scenic but demanding 10K loop starts and finishes at the Durty Dabber Pavilion. After leaving the
pavilion, you’ll wind through wooded singletrack and the trails of Zindel Park. You’ll tackle Goat Path to the Connector, climb up Gut Check, continue through Laurel Trail, Black Diamond and Kellers Bench, then return to the Durty Dabber land for a final ascent and the finish. 5K Trail (Moderate • Flowing Natural Terrain) Starting at the pavilion, this course takes you through the woods along the Creekside Trail into the McElhattan Nature Park’s large loop. The route then returns along Creekside Trail, crosses the creek via a bridge, and finishes back at the pavilion. 2.5 Mile Natural Trail (Untimed Fun Run) Perfect for beginners and families, this untimed trail run follows the Creekside Trail into the large loop at McElhattan Nature Park and back to the pavilion through shaded forest paths. Directions & Parking From Route?220, take the McElhattan Exit and head south onto Reservoir Road. Continue past Truck-Lite and Linnipi Village for approximately ½ mile, then turn right at the Durty

Course Description The 10k route will take you on a loop around the scenic Tiadaghton Avenue and River Road before looping through the corn maze with a final stretch on the road to the finish line. The 5k route will take you on a more brief road pass and a trip through the corn maze! Aid Stations and Support Hydration stations and cheerful volunteers will be on hand to keep you fueled and focused. This is a friendly, welcoming event designed to support runners of all levels—whether you're a
seasoned runner or lacing up for your first 5K. Runner Experience When you cross the finish line, the fun is just getting started. Run for the Rim is part of Pine Creek Seed's big fall celebration, meaning you’ll be greeted by a bustling festival as the morning unfolds. Enjoy local vendors, food trucks, drink stands, and family-friendly activities—all right on-site. It's the perfect way to cool down, refuel, and spend the day. Practical Details This event is the major annual fundraiser for the Jersey Shore Boys Basketball Booster Club, with all race proceeds directly supporting local athletes. Registration opens July 19th at 7pm and is available for the first 250 runners/hikers. Before signing up, there are NO REFUNDS, NO BIB SWITCHES, OR DEFERRMENTS for this event. PLEASE refrain from signing up if you don't like our policy.
Event Description
This night event will be held at the famous Zindel Park caretakers house and will utilize the local trails around the reservoir. You must wear a headlamp and be prepared for any/all winter conditions as the event will be held as planned. We offer a fun and mostly runnable 7 miler that will use the Outer Limits and Spring Run trails on the back end of the Zindel area. The short course will be 5K that will use Gut Check and the Gorge Trail and will feature one short steep climb followed by mostly flat terrain. 7 Miler-- Start at the Zindel house, run up road to reservoir, go across the metal foot bridge, take Final Cut over to Gut Check, up Gut Check to top, left onto Outer Limits, Outer Limits the entire way out to Pine Loganton Rd, aid station at the parking lot, down Spring Run to Gorge Trail (5 stream crossings), Gorge Trail to Black Diamond, Creekside Trail down to the finish..5 K-- Follow the same course as the 7 Milers until the top of Gut Check. Keep following Gut Check, cross the bridge across McElhattan Run, out to Gorge Trail, down to Black Diamond, Creekside, down to finish.
