“IT’S A GRAVEYARD SMASH FOR CHARITY CASH!”

Come get spooked and help support the Grissettown Volunteer Fire Department all at the same time! Join the SOHO Running Club for a 5k road race featuring costumed volunteers along the course and at the water stop! Then, stay for concessions prepared by the firemen of District 31 and get $5.00 off into their well known Haunted Trail at 6pm! Guaranteed to be a scary-fun evening for all! Proceeds will go directly to District 31 Volunteer Fire Station.

    Sunset Beach is a beautiful coastal island in SE North Carolina with a beautiful waterfront park, shaded golf course communities, an incredible bridge over the intracoastal waterway and unforgettable oceanfront views on the island! We host a half marathon, 5K & 1 Mile in April when the average temperatures are a High 67 and a Low of 59. Sunset Beach is ranked one of the top beaches in the World by National Geographic!

Our beloved sea turtle season begins May 1, and the SOHO Running Club wants to help bring awareness and give back to this wonderful organization who works hard all summer for Loggerhead conservation. The event will take place among the trails of the beautiful gardens and on the boardwalks over the scenic marsh in Little River, South Carolina. All race participants will receive a custom Blue Crab finisher’s medal.

    About this Event: Aidan Keahi Mendoza was a member of the Class of 2017 and captain of the Cross Country and Track & Field teams at Socastee High School. He had burning spirit and a passion for athletics. On December 26, 2016 he lost his life in a surfing accident. The Running Hawaiian 5K is a memorial race and a celebration of his life. Proceeds from this event will fund a scholarship opportunity in his name.
