It's back! The 11th Edition of the SHORE 2 SHORE cycling classic. This unique format allows cyclists to experience mixed routes comprising paved and gravel surfaces throughout Windsor/Essex and Chatham/Kent. Choose from an approximate 60 km or 120 km distance in either a TEAM or SOLO format.

TEAM OPTION - 120 km Route Only.

Start Time - 9:05 am first team depart. Staggered starts for remaining teams. Official start times announced the week prior.

Gather 5 to 10 riders of your choosing to tackle the course. Whether you ride it at a leisurely pace, or try to cover the distance quickly, the key is to work together throughout the duration.

Results based on WHEN you finish, not how fast you finish.

SOLO OPTION - 60 km OR 120 km Route.

Start Time - 9:00 am for 120 km. 10:45 am for 60 km.

Prefer to ride it as an individual? Set off on an adventure and ride the course at your own pace.

Goal is to have ALL riders/teams finish the event in a close time proximity.

    REGISTRATION INCLUDES:

    • Unique & scenic routes

    • Pre ride caffeine courtesy of Red Lantern Coffee Co.

    • Post ride food & beverages

    • On course support w/ aid station

    • Pledge incentives for top fundraisers and raffle prizes (more to come!)

    FAQ's:

Style of route? Expect both routes to comprise approximately 30% gravel.

Are the routes marked? Both routes will be sent in a GPX file to all riders the week before the event. This will allow turn by turn navigation when paired with a bike computer.

Type of bike? Both road and gravel bikes are suitable, but tire choice will be more critical. Since the majority of the route is paved, a slick tire between 28c - 35c will be most efficient.

On course support? Individuals and teams are expected to be mainly self-supported. Carry repair kits for flats. There will be one aid station on the course for fuel and hydration. Riders wanting specific items can have them transported to the aid station (drop off items for transport at check-in).

Join The RUNEGADE Podcast for an unforgettable night in the woods.

A Midsummer’s Night Scream is Southwest Ontario’s only trail race, taking place on Saturday, July 18 at 7:00 PM in the beautiful (and beautifully twisted) Two Creeks Conservation Area.

This 8km night trail run blends the magic of trails with just the right touch of terror. Misty forests, glow or early moonlight, and trails that feel they're coming alive at dusk.

You’ll experience the gnarliest, most wonderful singletrack in the region with dusk approaching - roots, ruts, and pine needle paths - as you race away from ghouls, spirits and the mysterious.

Brought to you by The RUNEGADE Podcast, this event is all about supporting independent running media and supporting our local trails.

Whether you've been curious about the trails, or just looking for an unique summer adventure, this is your chance to run through shadows, conquer challenging terrain, and scream (with excitement) alongside fellow trail runners.

Spots are limited - register now and join us for an evening you won’t soon forget.

    Disclaimer:

Participants in A Midsummer’s Night Scream acknowledge that trail running, involves inherent risks including, but not limited to, uneven terrain, roots, rocks, wildlife, low visibility, and potential for injury or illness. All runners participate entirely at their own risk.

The RUNEGADE Podcast, Two Creeks Conservation Area, event organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and all affiliated parties assume no liability for any injury, loss, damage, or accident that may occur before, during, or after the event. By registering and participating, you waive any and all claims against the organizers.

Run smart, stay aware, and enjoy the trails responsibly.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to support Two Creek Conservation Area trails.

Come support Christian Education at UMEI! All proceeds go towards making private Christian education affordable to as many families as we can. Sign up today and invite your friends!

We've heard your recommendations and we're changing a few things up, but the structure of the event won't change. For all changes, please read below.

    What Your Registration Includes:

    • Free entry into Point Pelee

    • A Lightning Bolt race shirt (must register by the early bird deadline of September 11, 2026 to receive this)

    • Chip timed event by WRACE

    • Post race refreshments (including Mennonite Sausage!!) and a swag table - you'll be able to grab any swag you'd like from the swag table - this will reduce waste and multiple items going to families who may not need them.

    • Awards (1st, 2nd, 3rd place male/female for 5K and 10K runs and 5k walk, kids medals)

    • Many door prizes

    Registration:

    • A family rate is available for 2 adults over 18 and up to 3 children participating in the Family 5K Lightning Run/Walk.

    Things To Note:

Register by the early bird deadline to receive a Lightning Bolt race athletic long sleeve shirt. These will not be available for purchase at the event.

Awards ceremony and door prize draw immediately after the race (you must be present to receive your prize).

As usual, there will be a big ticket prize, what it is as this point is not known!

We've tried a few different options for those who have pledged additional funds, but it's been confusing in the past. This is how tickets will work this year - every participant will get a ticket that will go towards the general door prizes. Those who raise additional pledges of $300 or more, will receive a UMEI branded cooler bag at registration (see photo). Share your pledge page on social media, to your family and friends, etc!!

This event runs rain or shine! There will likely be black flies and mosquitos - dress accordingly and bring/wear bug spray!

A map of the race is below: One lap around is 5k, those running 10k will complete it twice. Further instruction will be given at the event.
