Night owls, come light up the night! This 6K run lines up at 11:59 PM (Friday Night) and the race starts at Midnight Saturday morning near the gate at Uppill Road. Bring your glow sticks and lights to add to the festivities. We will have a glow in the dark arch at the start / finish and MoonPies as a treat after your cross the line.

Course Description

The course continues up Rundill road hill, then circles around Iroquois Park Road and Toppill Road before coming back down the hill. Every mile will get easier!

Note: Every runner is REQUIRED to have a headlamp or flashlight for your and other participants safety.

No Race Day Registration

Since it will be dark at the race start time, there will be NO registration at the race. That said, you CAN absolutely register on your phone from the car or as your walk up to check-in ;)

    “OUR NATION OWES A DEBT TO ITS FALLEN HEROES THAT WE CAN NEVER FULLY REPAY"

    The 5th Annual Louisville Honor Earned, Remembrance Owed (H.E.R.O.) Run/Walk/Ruck honors those who died in battle and those we lost at home to the psychological wounds of war. Join us on Saturday, May 30, 2026 for a day of camaraderie and connection. Proceeds will benefit Volunteers of America Mid-States, as well as the University of Louisville's Salute to Service Scholarship Fund.

    Join us to support great Veteran driven charities, learn more about local Veteran organizations, and take home a unique finisher's medal.

    The Louisville H.E.R.O. Run/Walk/Ruck is a family friendly event, and will once again take place at the University of Louisville Cardinal Track Stadium, 2125 South Floyd Street in Louisville. The route will leave the track and field stadium, take participants around the beautiful University of Louisville campus, and finish on the track.

    Registration

    Early Bird Pricing until December 31, 2025: $20 for Military/Veterans, $25 for civilians

    After January 1, 2026: $25 for Military/Veterans, $30 for civilians

    Kids 8 and under can also choose to run our FREE 100-meter fun run.

    Race Ambassadors

    Recruit 5 friends and family to register, and get your race registration refunded! Details will be included in your confirmation email after you sign up.

    Packet Pickup

    Packet pickup will be Friday, May 29, 2026 at Mission BBQ, 4607 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY 40207, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. Race day packet pickup and registration will be from 7:00am to 7:45am at Cardinal Track Stadium. Participants are STRONGLY encouraged to pick up their race packets / swag bags on Friday

    Awards

    All 5K and 10K finishers will receive a beautiful custom medal to add to their race collection.

    Additional awards for top civilian and Veteran male and female finishers for both the 5K and 10K distances.

    Join us on Tuesday, June 9th for this fun 5k. The race starts at 6:30 p.m. near the Iroquois Amphitheater. We recommend getting there early to allow plenty of time for parking and check-in. This family friendly community event brought to you by the Iroquois Hill Runners provides the perfect opportunity to come out and attempt your first 5K or put your yourself to the test and break a PR. The rolling course around the base of Iroquois Park is full of ample beauty to enjoy while avoiding the hustle and bustle of traffic.

    DID SOMEBODY SAY PIZZA?

    YES! Iroquois Hill Runners is partnering with Craft House Pizza to provide pizza to all of those who join us. Run the 5K and build up your appetite, then stay and hang out with the awesome running community cheering in others as they finish.

    Packet Pick-Up

    Packet pick-up will be on-site prior to the race start. We will be setup about 5 PM to Check-in participants and assists with race day registrations. We do ask that if at all possible, please register early or on your phone to save time in line for race day registration.

    Parking

    Iroquois Park has ample parking at the amphitheater and playground to accommodate everyone. PLEASE DO NOT park on the grass.

    Course Description

    Starting near the Iroquois Park Amphitheater the race rides the rolling hills at the base of Iroquois Park finishing next to the Amphitheater parking lot.

    Stay Hydrated & Stay Safe

    Summer weather can get a bit warm in Louisville. Be sure to hydrate well before, during and after the race. We will have bottled water available at the finish line.

    The Mothman Race is the second in a series of trail runs through Louisville's beautiful parks. This is a family and beginner friendly six mile run through the trails of Waverly Park. We'll start at the playground and make our way winding through Waverly Park.

    The Mothman is a cryptid who follows is said to be a red-eyed humanoid winged creature seen by some as a harbinger of doom. Mothman sighting accounts come from across West Virginia and Kentucky, to the greater Appalachian region. From the 1960's to present day sightings continue to be reported.

    Awards

    Each race will have awards for Overall Male / Female / Non-Binary Winners.

    You will want to complete 3 of the 4 races either In-person or Virtually to earn your Cryptid Series Survivor Medal and Shirt!

    Packet Pick-Up

    Packet pick-up will be on-site near pavilion prior to race start. Please plan to pick-up your race packet with enough time to allow for pinning your bib before race start.

    T-Shirts

    Shirts for this series are an optional add-on. This keeps the cost of the race reasonable for families. We will have a limited number of shirts available for sale on race day. If you know you want a shirt, please pre-order during registration.

    Parking--ARRIVE EARLY & CARPOOL

    We ask that you plan to arrive early for parking. Carpool as much as possible. Parking is limited at Waverly Park. We want to be respectful of the parks so we are able to have many more great events in the future. Carpooling is preferred to make space for everyone planning to participate. If you are planning to run with a friend, we encourage carpooling.

    Water/Snacks

    This event is CUPLESS. Please bring your own water bottle, hydration pack, or cup. Bottled Water will be available in limited supply. Water and pre packaged snacks will be available post race.
