The Great Olympic Adventure Trail Run (GOAT Run) is a trail 50K, marathon & half marathon that traverses Kelly Ridge between the Olympic National Park and the Strait of Juan de Fuca in Washington State.

The route follows the single track Adventure Trail for the majority of the course, plus some unpaved forest road mixed in, and less than a mile on pavement. The finish line is in Olympic National Park at the deep, glacially carved Lake Crescent. Famous for its turquoise blue waters of exceptional clarity, the lake is the perfect place to end the race.

The course reaches a maximum elevation of 1,619 feet, with a cumulative elevation gain of 1500 ft for the half, 3500 ft for the marathon, and 3700 ft for the 50K. Challenging? Absolutely! This is a difficult course. But it’s worth it! *(note: half course is long, about 14 mi)

    What’s included?

In addition to an epic outdoor experience in the far northwest corner, all runners receive a professional well-organized event, a well-marked course, food and snacks at water stations along the course, a piece of custom race swag, free shuttle to start, chip timing, after-party at Log Cabin Resort including heavy snacks and water / electrolyte. Bring cash or card with you, as we will have a beer / cider garden at the finish line!

    GOAT Run is Cupless

Unnecessary waste and trash is something we are working to eliminate from our events. As an organization dedicated to maintaining a clean race and doing our part to keep our trails clean, starting in 2024 we will be going cupless. This means we are eliminating the use of disposable cups at our races. Runners will carry their own hydration vessels, weather it be a backpack, water bottle, or a compressible cup such at the HydraPak speed cup.

    Giving Back

This race is a friendly, community-based event, and a portion of race proceeds is donated to the Peninsula Trails Coalition and the Peninsula Chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of Washington, in appreciation for their countless hours of trail construction and maintenance on the North Olympic Peninsula.
