Join us for the 2nd Annual Stars and Stripes 5K Run/Walk through the streets of Tyronza! This fun run/walk supports our annual Stars and Stripes Festival and is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities.

The course features flat roads—perfect for PRs—with water stations along the route. Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female runners.

Last year’s race was a great time, and we expect this year to be even better. We’ve also partnered with a new vendor for our finisher medals, so we are expecting better than last year.

The Stars and Stripes Festival is held the second weekend in June and features live bands of multiple genres, food and merchandise vendors, and games for all ages. The weekend kicks off with a Veterans Dinner on Friday night, making it a meaningful community celebration.

Gearhead Endurance Challenge — Presented by Roof Raiders

How far will you go?

The Gearhead Endurance Challenge is a unique event designed to push participants beyond their perceived limits. Set in the scenic Craighead Forest Park, this challenge consists of 30-minute intervals over a 6-hour period, where participants run a 2.5-mile loop each interval.

This event encourages individuals to achieve distances they might have thought unattainable. Whether aiming for a single loop or striving for a 30-mile total, participants define their own goals—making this event less about competition and more about personal endurance and achievement.

Proceeds support the Jonesboro DARE Program.

The challenge kicks off at 7am.

Packet Pick-Up will be at Native Brew Works on Friday, April 24. Alongside packet pick-up will be the pre-race Vendor Village. Participants will receive 1 free drink ticket with their race entry, valid Friday only.

The 10k and 5k will take place on the 8 Mile Creek Trail in Paragould, Arkansas.

Returning in 2026 is the FASTEST KID IN TOWN RACE Sponsored by PMU with the Fastest Internet in Town.

All registrations before May 1st will receive a FREE Loose Caboose Festival T-Shirt!

*Please note the 8 Mile Creek Trail Expansion will be complete by race day and starting points are new and improved!

Half Marathon: Race begins at Bland Park at 7am.

10K: Race begins at Bland Park at 8am and returns to same point.

5K: Race begins at Bland Park at 8am and ends at Harmon Park. A shuttle will leave from the 5k finish line from 9am to 10am to take 5k Racers back to Bland Park.

Fastest Kid In Town Race: Race begins at 9:30 am inside the festival grounds near Champions Gymnastics.

All proceed from the race will benefit the Paragould Chamber Foundation and the Greene County Future Fund. The races are a collaboration between the two entities.

The 6th annual Running on the Ridge welcomes new and returning participants! We look forward to another great race with options of a 5K, 10K, 1 mile dog jog/fun run and 10K ruck! The 5K & 10K runs and 10K ruck course routes will be through downtown Paragould & on a portion of the 8 Mile Creek Trail with the start and finish at the Greene County Fairgrounds. The dog jog will be around the Greene County Fairgrounds. This year’s race will benefit the Henry Wrinkles Foundation.

• All participants will receive a FREE ticket to Saturday night’s Rodeo on the Ridge!

• All participants will receive a finisher prize & those registered BEFORE May 10th will be guaranteed a t-shirt.

• Packet pick-up will be Friday, May 29th from 5pm-7pm at Harmon Park in Paragould.

• Race timing will be provided by Stearns Race Timing for the 5K and 10K racers.

• All dogs must be on a leash at all times and cleaned up after.

• All racers under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older.

Thank you for your interest in the 2024 Growing Minds Take Flight 5K! All proceeds from this race go directly to Lawrence County, AR children with disabilities. The Growing Minds Foundation funds scholarships for children with disabilities to help with expenses for medical equipment, special surgery, specialty toys, etc!
