Kansas City's first and only 5K to benefit Hospice and Palliative Care!

Our mission is to raise awareness and support for Hospice and Palliative Care, specifically benefiting those at Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care and Midland Care Hospice of Topeka and Lawrence. Since the 2011 inaugural race, Heroes for Hospice has raised and donated a net $248,000 to the two hospice houses!

This family friendly race will take place on a fun route around the Lions Gate Golf Course starting and finishing at REI in Prairiefire. Bring your friends and family out to support an amazing cause. Runners, walkers and stroller/wagon riders are all welcome join!

There will be awards given to the top overall male/female winners and overall male/female masters runners following the race. All registered participants receive a complimentary Heroes for Hospice race shirt.

The three Heartland 39.3 races for 2026 are: Rock the Parkway Half Marathon on April 11, 2026, and the Garmin Olathe Half Marathon on April 25, 2026 and the Hospital Hill Run Half Marathon on May 16, 2026. Pricing for the 2026 Series will track the pricing for each Series event and will be the sum of the registration fees for all three Series races at the time of Series registration.

    If you have already registered for one or more of the Series races and want to step up to the Series challenge, contact Amy at KC Running Company to receive a discount code for Heartland 39.3 Series registration that reflects your prior registration for Series events! The discount will be in an amount equal to the price of the event or events that you have previously signed up for at the time that the code is issued, preserving any discount the registrant may have received for the race.
