Africa Challenge (South, East, West)

7/11/2026 to 8/2/2026

9 marathons in 9 countries in 23 days with a quick low cost itinerary. We planned the location of races in each county so you can get from one county to another with no wasted time, all direct nonstop flights. We start with 1- South Africa Johannesburg Arch Marathon, 2- Eswatini Mbabane Marathon, 3- Lesotho Maseru Marathon, 4- Angola Luanda Marathon, 5- Mozambique Maputo Marathon, 6- Malawi Lilongwe Marathon, 7- Uganda Entebbe Marathon, 8- Burundi Bujumbura Marathon, and end with number 9- Rwanda Kigali Marathon.

You may choose to run in as many countries as you want, each race will have a separate registration and you may sit out and skip a country. The host hotels are picked and designed to be the start of each race course, with the opportunity to stay in other low cost hotels nearby.

  • Early Bird limit per event is capped at 20 runners for each race, registration for all races will close once reached 20 per event or 2 days prior to the event.

  • Early Bird Registrations Fee For each Marathon includes a finisher medal, a bib number and official finisher time for each event posted on the website. Late registrants are not guaranteed to get a finisher medal, please sign up at least one month before the event date.

  • Distribution of the bib numbers and mandatory race briefings location - Host Hotel 5pm the evening before each event. Race director reserves the right to deny your entry / start if you miss the briefing.

  • Start time for each marathon: Sunrise for each event / country. The start times of all marathons are subject to change depending on weather and local conditions and will be announced definitively when the bib numbers are issued at the respective race briefing. (The events could start as early as 12 hours before the announced date depending on connection times to the next country, parks opening times etc... This means you need to be in the country of the event at least 18 hours in advance.

  • Courses : The course in general will be on mostly flat and paved terrain (not guaranteed) with multi laps.

  • Finish : Cut-off time 9:00 after start (No Runner Left Behind)

  • Timekeeping: The distance covered will be controlled by time keeper (s) under the control of the Race Director. It is mandatory for each runner to carry a GPS-watch or other GPS devices with minimum 9 hours battery capacity as an additional distance control.

  • Awards : All finishers of the respective marathon will receive a medal, finish results list and (finisher certificate is being considered).

  • There are absolutely no refunds issued. These are low cost events with minimal registration fees. The fee is to automatically place orders for medals and bibs and also cover some of the volunteer costs. All races will be limited to 20 runners based upon a first come, first serve. The organizer reserves the right to reject registrations without giving reasons.

  • The Interested runners are advised to register as soon as races are open, the registration is based on 1st come 1st serve.

  • Important Note : Be advised that visas might be required and that it is the sole responsibility of the participants to obtain these. The marathons will be avoiding public roads and will be without official permission, since most countries do not need permits for small groups to run in public parks. (we will try our best to obtain a permit or a sponsor when needed but it is not 100 percent guaranteed). insurance or medical services. Every runner participates solely on their own risk. The organizers cannot be made liable in case a race cannot be staged due to circumstances not under their control or the race is stopped by authorities. The races are self supporting which means the participants bring their own drinks and nutrition for the race. By registration for any of the races listed you agree / sign waver to all conditions mentioned above. It is advised to obtain travel insurance for emergencies, flight cancellations etc...
