The Friends of Mae S. Bruce Library is hosting their 3rd Annual Friends of Mae S. Bruce Library Fun Run/Walk on November 01, 2025 with all proceeds benefiting the Mae S. 1K KIDS RUN/WALK - 7:30 A.M.

5K FUN RUN/WALK - 8:30 A.M.

INCENTIVES: T-Shirt, Giveaways, Door Prizes, Participation Medals & Plaques to be awarded in each event to male & female entrants finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall.

1K Kids Run/Walk - Open to all ages. Both 1K Run/Walk events (Individuals and Teams) will occur concurrently; with runners starting first and walkers following. Plaques will be awarded to Kids ONLY (males & females) up to age 12 finishing 1st, 2nd or 3rd place overall.

5K Fun Run/Walk - Open to all ages. Plaques will be awarded to male & female entrants finishing p1st, 2nd or 3rd place overall.

Race start: Alvin Memorial Stadium corner of 2^nd st. and W. Dumble.

DISTANCE: 1K- two and one half laps around Alvin high school track.

5K- one loop. Certified course- (TX16079ETM)

10K- two loops. (TX16080ETM)

AWARDS: 5K/10K-top three in each age category. (Male and Female). Custom finishers medals.

1K-awards to overall first place boy and girl. All 1k finishers receive a custom medal.

Get ready to swim, bike, run, and celebrate the outdoors! The Figgy Kids Triathlon is named after everyone's favorite eco-friendly mascot, Figgy the Squirrel! This beginner-friendly race is perfect for newbies and more experienced youth triathletes too—it's a great summer challenge with a side of outdoor fun.

Set in the scenic Stevenson Park, racers will dash through shaded trails lined with majestic oak trees and native Texas plants. You’ll swim in the pool, pedal past cheering volunteers, and run under a canopy of oaks.

Two Waves of Racing Fun:

We have two USAT age-based divisions, with appropriately sized courses for every level of racer:

🟢 Council Wave (Ages 6–10)

• 100-yard pool swim

• 2.8-mile bike

• 0.6-mile run

🔵 Mayor’s Wave (Ages 11–16)

• 200-yard pool swim

• 4.4-mile bike

• 1.5-mile run
