Tour de Kirkwood Triathlon

Have you considered getting into trail running or hiking, but didn’t know where to start, or were apprehensive about venturing out onto the trails alone? Big River Unpaved is a FREE, fun, friendly, and first-class training program for runners and walkers of all abilities. This program is geared for people new to hiking or trail running, looking for a fun, social, and supportive atmosphere in which to venture out into the outdoors. Our trail excursions will be supported by guides who will help you “stay found” and share knowledge about trail etiquette and technique. Our trail excursions will help make hitting the trails more comfortable and accessible by providing comradery and education in a fun, social, and supportive atmosphere.

This program is FREE! So get ready to lace up your trail shoes and get outside!

Details:

• Weekly trail excursions on Sunday mornings at various locations throughout the St. Louis metro area. (Some of these trails will be a 30+ minute drive from the city and mid-county. The location schedule will be shared with registered participants.) The spring season also includes Thursday evening trail outings.

• Weekly email newsletter to keep you informed

• Beginner-friendly

• Experienced Trail Guides to share motivation and advice (and help you “stay found”)

• Age requirements - For safety reasons we can't accommodate unaccompanied minors. Those under 18 must be accompanied by (running/hiking with) their guardian for the duration of any trail excursion

• Hiking Pace - Our Hike Guides will generally maintain a pace faster than 2.5mph or 24:00/mile. Participants desiring to hike slower are welcome to attend but may be hiking without Guide support.

Get ready for a fun-filled morning at the third annual Kirkwood Beer Run, a tradition that brings together beer lovers, fitness enthusiasts, and the Kirkwood community. This 3-mile race is not just about running—it's about celebrating everything that makes Kirkwood special! The Kirkwood 5K Beer Run is sponsored by 4 Hand brewery.

The first 800 registrants will receive a giveaway commemorating this year's Kirkwood Beer Run!

Join us for a meaningful 5k fundraiser supporting the mental health of our brave first responders! Lace up your shoes and show your support for those who dedicate their lives to keep us safe. This lovely route around 1st Phorm and the Fenton Firehouse will help raise awareness and funds for the essential mental health resources for our first responders. Let's run together, make a positive impact for the ones that serve our communities selflessly!

In August of 2022, we lost Sam Scherer to an aggressive form of cancer called cholangiocarcinoma. Sam's endless positive energy and appreciation for life shined bright throughout his time with us. He loved his family, friends and community. His boisterous laugh and passion for fun were evident with every step of his so-called "thunderous calves". He loved bringing people together and we are thrilled to honor him with this second annual Family Walk & Runv .

This no pressure, family friendly event is for all ages. Strollers, wagons and carriers are welcome and encouraged. Whether you intend to make it one lap (.6 mi) or the full 5 (3.1 mi aka 5K) around Shrewsbury's Wehner park, the end goal is to come together for a day of fun and fitness. Any and all participation is encouraged. Sprint to the finish line or hang out on a nearby playground to cheer on your loved ones.

All proceeds will be going to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation (CCF). Founded in 2006, the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation (CCF) is a global 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization. Its mission is to find a cure and improve the quality of life for those affected by bile duct cancer. CCF supports basic & translational research and raises awareness in the cholangiocarcinoma community through advocacy, education, collaboration, and research.
