Drink- Run- Repeat. Got your attention?

Looking for a unique twist on your typical race experience? Look no further! Introducing our exciting event: Drink-Run-Repeat. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for some fun with friends, this race promises an unforgettable experience.

Join us at the beautiful Briar Patch Hunting property, situated just north of Poplar Grove Plantation. Here's how it works: participants will tackle a 5K loop, but with a twist. Before each lap, you have the option to enjoy a refreshing 12-ounce beer or indulge in some chocolate milk, with a tempting offer of a 2-minute deduction off your lap time.

But wait, there's more! For those who want to kick off the excitement early, you can run the Beer Mile. Before the main event, participants can partake in the Beer Mile challenge, where you'll enjoy a beer and run a quarter-mile, setting the tone for an adrenaline-fueled adventure ahead.

Now, we know what you're thinking—running in the summer heat and through the woods may sound daunting, but fear not! Consider it an added thrill as you navigate through nature's obstacles. Keep an eye out for snakes slithering in the woods and be prepared to brave the elements as you conquer the course.

Whether you're flying solo, pairing up with your best buddy, or forming a team of 3 or 4, the goal remains the same: conquer the 20K course in style. Please note, the beer option is exclusively available for those 21 and older. However, fear not, as chocolate milk will also be on offer for those under 21 or simply looking for an alternative refreshment.

As if that weren't enough excitement, participants will be required to hold a relay baton during their leg of the race, adding an extra element of camaraderie and challenge.

So, grab your running shoes, rally your crew, and get ready for an adrenaline-fueled adventure like no other. Drink, run, repeat - the ultimate recipe for a race day to remember!

EVENT IS OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. MILITARY AND CIVILIAN WELCOMED

The Tau Gamma Gamma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated proudly presents the 2nd Triple Nickle Remembrance Run at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. This event is dedicated to honoring and preserving the legacy of the trailblazing Paratroopers who played a pivotal role in integrating Airborne operations into the U.S. Army.

The Legacy of the Triple Nickle

The 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion, known as the Triple Nickle, was the first all-Black airborne unit in U.S. military history. Formed in 1943 during World War II, the battalion marked a significant milestone in the ongoing fight for racial equality in the Armed Forces. Despite completing rigorous training at Fort Benning, Georgia, and Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the 555th was never deployed overseas due to segregation policies and the military’s reluctance to integrate Black Soldiers into combat units.

    Operation Firefly: A Unique Mission

In 1945, the Triple Nickle was tasked with a critical domestic mission: Operation Firefly. Partnering with the U.S. Forest Service, they became Smokejumpers—elite Paratroopers who leaped into remote areas to combat wildfires. Many of these fires were ignited by Japanese balloon bombs, designed to create chaos and divert wartime resources. Over the course of the operation, the 555th completed more than 1,200 jumps, demonstrating exceptional bravery and adaptability in a non-traditional military role.

A Legacy of Courage and Change

The battalion was later absorbed into the 82nd Airborne Division, paving the way for full military integration, officially enacted by President Truman in 1948. The legacy of the Triple Nickle endures as a powerful symbol of courage, resilience, and the ongoing fight against racial discrimination.

Join us for the 5.55-mile run along Fort Bragg’s Liberty Trail as we honor these heroes and celebrate their lasting impact!
