This event consists of three separate races:

Saturday, Aug. 8 at 1pm will be a 1km sprint up Homerun Hill.

Saturday, Aug 8 at 4pm will be a 5-ish km trail race.

Sunday, Aug. 9 at 9am will be a 25-ish km long run featuring visits to both King Mtn and Robertson Cliffs.

Races are organized so that participants may sign up for any single event or combination of events. Signing up for all three puts you in the running for a special grand prize!

Since running is for the whole family, we will also be offering a kids' run on Saturday afternoon in between the hill sprint and the 5km.

Participants may opt-in to dinner at Stokely Creek Lodge on Saturday evening during the registration process.

Bring your instruments because after dinner, if the weather is favourable, we'll jam for a while around the campfire and then our race organizers will be leading a guided hike to the King Mountain lookout.

Stokely Creek has accommodations available if anybody wishes to spend the night. Contact their office to make reservations: 705-649-3421 or [email protected]

  • SOO 200 [sinistersports.ca] [Register at raceroster.com]

    Fri, Sep 11, 2026 at 8:00 AM

The SOO 200 celebrates the land and waters of the Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma area. Known for the tough land of the Canadian shield, and stunning landscapes, the SOO 200 will challenge all athletes.

This is also Eastern Canada's first 200-miler, and a sister event of The Divide 200.

    NEW DISTANCE OPTIONS!

With our new course revision, we are opening up the race to 100-miler and 50k runners. The 100-miler and 50k both start at Stokely Creek Lodge.

The course is a combination of single track, double track, dirt road, cross-country, and even a bit of bushwhacking. There will be some short sections of route-finding, even though it is a prescribed course; the terrain can just be really gnarly out there.

Checkpoints are every 20 to 40km apart on the 200 mile, depending on the section of the race. 200 mile competitors are required to carry a Garmin inReach (supplied by Sinister Sports) for both route-finding and safety.

Stay tuned for more announcements. Check out the website, and follow the SOO 200 group on Facebook for updates as they happen.

PAYMENT PLAN: For the 200-miler, you can pay upfront or in two installments. The first 50% installment is due on registration, which holds your spot, and the second is due on May 22. Note that you can pay the balance after May 22, but there will be a 10% price increase. There is no early entry discount on deposits. There is also a 10% non-refundable fee; see our Terms and Conditions. https://www.sinistersports.ca/terms

The SOO 200 is situated upon the traditional territory of the Anishnaabeg, including the Batchewana and Garden River First Nations, as well as the Métis People. This land, Baawaating, is the historic meeting place for Indigenous people across North America. Miigwetch to all Indigenous peoples for sharing this land.
