The Road Home race is a fundraiser for Passageways. We work with homeless veterans and help them get back on their feet and into a place of their own. We have hosted a 5K and 1-mile fun run for the last 8 years. In recent years, we added a 10K, as well.

All races will start and end at the Plum building inside Sedgwick County Park. This is a USATF-certified race, and the Timer Guys will do the timing. The routes will be posted closer to the race, as will the schedule for the day.

Passageways Road Home is a very patriotic race with flags lining a good portion of the race route. We also will have a Presentation of Colors and Singing of the National Anthem before the start of the race. Your race bib will include a name of a fallen military hero, currently serving military member, or a veteran. During registration, you will be given the option to list a name you would like on your bib.

The OctoberFit 5/10K race is PF's way to give back to the community of Wichita by partnering with the local Boys and Girls Club of South Central Kansas.     START/FINISH LOCATION: 2101 W Sim Park Dr, Wichita. This is one mile west of the Wichita Art Museum along Museum Blvd/West Sim Park Dr at the workout park. Parking is available at 2101 W. Sim Park Dr or the new Botanica parking lot just east of the start/finish line. The race route will take you along the bike path on the north side of the Arkansas River past Cowtown & Keeper of the Plains to Exploration Place and return along the bike path south of the Arkansas River. A short jog across the "red bridge" returns you to the Start/Finish line.

    When: Saturday, October 24th, 2026.

    Time: Racers can begin to show up at 7:30 am. Race Kicks off at 9:00 am

    Costume Contest: 7:45 am to 8:45 am

    Costume Contest: Come dressed up in your spookiest attire for our Halloween contest. The costume contest is open to individuals or couples only. The winning individual or couple will receive a $100 gift card. To participate, you must have gone to the judging area by 8:45 a.m. The winner (s) will be announced after the race.

    All Racers will receive an OctoberFit 5K race t-shirt, a participation medal, and a bag with goodies!

    Packet Pickup: Packets will be picked up from Monday, October 20th, to Wednesday, October 22rd, at our Planet Fitness Normandie location, 6592 E. Central Ave, Wichita, KS, 67206.

    Packets will also be available for pick up the morning of the race.
