On SEPTEMBER 13th 2026 the second annual Horsham Running Festival will be held on paths alongside the picturesque Wimmera River in Horsham, Victoria.
The event will offer a full marathon, half marathon and a quarter marathon (10.55km) event for runners, a quarter marathon event for walkers and a 5km walk or run option. There will also be a FREE 2km Kids' Dash. This will be a fun untimed event for U/12s.
Race Director, Brian Haddy, has been co-ordinating a local fun run in his home town of Mount Barker, SA for the past nine years. This ‘Conquer the Summit’ event has grown from 100 to over 700 participants each year and has raised over $250,000 for local youth development charities in that time.
In 2022 Brian also co-ordinated the Coober Pedy Marathon Festival and now coordinates the Dimboola Dash (inaugural event to be on 12 April 2026 www.dimbooladash.au), the Mad Max Marathon in Broken Hill (www.madmaxmarathon.com.au) on the last Sunday in July and the annual Mildura Riverfront Marathon (www.mildurariverfrontmarathon.com.au) each June long weekend.
The aim of the Horsham Running Festival is threefold – to attract runners from all over Australia to this thriving regional city; to encourage more local children and adults to get into the running ‘habit’; and to provide an additional annual running challenge for the local parkrun and running community.
