Madeline Island Alley Cat Rider Info

#weddingcat ~ Wedding on the Water

    September 11th-13th 2026

Year 5 of Island Cat is bringing you a love story. Evan & I met after I moved to the island, became friends and then during year 2 of Island Cat he met all my pals, the folks that know me best and our friendship blossomed into riding this wonderful wave of life together. We want to celebrate our people the most!

How to get to the island:

Madeline Island Ferry Line boats run every half hour from 10a-6p with a few later evening drops from Bayfield, WI to Island 9 & 10pm (last boat). This is a 2.5 mile and 25 min ride. All vehicles are allowed and tickets are first come first served. Visit www.madferry.com as this schedule may change.

    Provisions to bring:

Pack like you would to tent camp, bring food & any gear you may need. Plate, bowl, utensils, reusable cafe cup, etc. Darlings Grocery is open 7 days a week 10a-6p. There are a few restaurants on the island too. Bring cash for the main race and afterparty at Tom’s. Bike lights, helmets, & locks are required. Swim gear if the temps are still nice we dip. Inclement weather has been known to happen in Lake Superior, be advised.

    Parking:

Public restrooms & free overnight parking is located at 868 Whitefish St, Bayfield, WI 54814 known as the “public lot”.

Please set up camp, drive with your bike to park here as there is not a lot of parking at the property for non-adventure vehicles.

Camping at the South Shore House:

    South Shore House

This year we are setting up camp on our 5 acre new-to-us property! The fire number is 320 Big Arns Rd. but all campers will enter the driveway from South Shore Rd. across from Islewood Rd. and follow the camp signs & volunteers to your camp pads. If you are tent camping unload and then park in the public parking lot downtown and use a bike for the weekend. Tent space and some room for van setups are available. Please contact me to reserve space if you need to van camp.

Biff’s for restrooms, potable water, no electric hook ups. Please no dogs as our ducks are free range.

There are public showers for a $2 fee at Tom’s Burned Down Cafe.

Camping is free, please be respectful. This is our home, you better pack-in pack-out.

Riders are responsible for all meals.
