The Glitter 5K

Where the Community Loop celebrates connection, The Glitter 5K ignites forward momentum.

This energizing course winds through rows of lavender and open farmland at Lucky Clover Farm in Gaylord, MI, offering both peaceful beauty and purposeful movement. Inspired by the power of a single spark to begin something greater, this run celebrates strength, resilience, and the courage to keep moving.

Whether you run, jog, or walk, The Glitter 5K invites you to challenge yourself while surrounded by nature, encouragement, and community spirit.

The terrain includes trail and field; courses will be clearly marked. The course is flat, fast, and scenic with incredible views.

The Mighty Glitter Mile: The Community Loop

Short, bold, and full of sparkle, The Mighty Glitter Mile is our signature Community Loop, a joyful out-and-back course woven through rows of lavender.

Its pack-and-forth design allows participants to see and cheer each other on throughout the entire mile, creating a powerful atmosphere of encouragement, connection, and celebration. Every step is visible. Every participant is supported. Every voice matters.

Walk it. Run it. Dance it. Shine your way to the finish line.

Runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome for all distances. This is a family-friendly event. Please no pets.

Following the event, Lucky Clover Farm will be offering discounted You-Pick lavender opportunities for participants and guests. Please note that You-Pick experiences are available at a special event rate and are not included in registration fees.

We encourage you to explore the scenic fields, discover their locally crafted products, and enjoy more of what makes this venue such a special part of our community.

Join the Kalkaska Cross Country and Track and Field teams as we present the return of the Wood Memorial Trout Run! The Wood Memorial Trout Run commemorates Chad Wood and his father Stafford. Chad was an avid runner and a youth leader in many ways. Stafford was a collegiate runner and ran countless races and marathons, who was one of Kalkaska’s treasured teachers, coaches, and administrators. In their memory, proceeds from the race are used to help fund the Kalkaska High School Cross Country and Track and Field teams. Stafford’s grandchildren and Chad’s niece and nephews have been avid runners; this race is a great way to pay homage to this family that has supported the Kalkaska Community over the years.

SIGN UP BY 4/1 TO GAURANTEE A T-SHIRT!!!

Lace Up for a Greater Cause

This year, the Wood Memorial Trout Run is proud to partner with Sneakers4Good — because great races inspire great impact beyond the finish line. When you bring a pair of gently used athletic shoes to race day, Sneakers4Good will make sure they find their way to someone around the world who truly needs them. With over 300 million people globally unable to afford shoes, your old kicks can quite literally change someone's life. And here's the best part: it's completely effortless on your end. Just dig those worn-in trainers out of your closet, drop them off at the event, and Sneakers4Good handles the rest. Together, we're turning miles run in Kalkaska into hope delivered worldwide — because that's what community events are all about.

Early packet pickup will be on April 24th in the Middle School gym lobby from 5pm-7pm. Race day checkin starts at 7:00am and ends at 8:15am on April 25th (PLEASE DON'T BE LATE). If you plan to bring a Furry Friend to race with you, please help us keep things tidy. Dogs must remain on-leash at all times and please clean up after them too. We are allowing pets on school grounds this year because there were a lot of requests last year

Top of Michigan Festival of Races includes a series of races that benefit the Top of Michigan Trails Council and the Petoskey High School Track and Cross Country teams.

The course is run along the Little Traverse Wheelway, a non-motorized trail that runs from Charlevoix, through Petoskey/Bay Harbor and onto Harbor Springs. Please note that there are a few off road sections of this route, on grass and dirt.

The Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k start and end in Petoskey. The course is mostly paved, with some sections on grass and a short section on trail, connecting into the Petoskey State Park for the 10k and Half Marathon.
