Race Day Schedule: On race day, arrive early and be prepared for the following:

• 7:00 am – Packet and timing chip pickup starts

• 8:30 am – Mandatory pre-race meeting

• 9:00 am – Race start

• 11:30 am – Course closes

Award Ceremony: Check the Negative Split website on your phone at www.nsplit.com/results, or the paper results posted on the side of the 3RRR trailer, to see if you placed in your age group or were one of the top 3 overall men or women and you can collect your award outside on the deck at Kiona Winery after the race. Awards are race glasses that will NOT be mailed. If you miss the pick up after the race you will need to contact Eric at [email protected] to arrange a pickup time for your award. And yes, the deck on Kiona with a bottle of one of their great wines is a great way to unwind after the race.

Special Considerations: Please note the following:

• Mountain bikes, ONLY for the overall and age group awards. Athletes must use mountain bike frames with 26-29 inch wheels, and tires with a minimum 1.5 inch width (no road tires allowed) and have some sort of knobby, raised pattern that covers more than 50% of the tire surface. So that means the slick portion of the tire is less than 50% of the tire surface.

  • We will also have a special GRAVEL BIKE division, with the top 3 overall men and women each receiving an age group type award. Gravel bikes will NOT be included in the overall or age group awards.

Questions: Please contact Eric Greager at [email protected] with any race questions.

Volunteers: We need lots of volunteers for all our multi-sport events. If you can help at this event, please contact Eric Greager at [email protected] .

Join the 3RRR Club: You can get the above 3RRR discount by joining the club. Only $20 per year covers your entire family at one address. Just go to https://runsignup.com/Club/WA/Richland/3RiversRoadRunners to get signed up.

Come join us at Chiawana Park in Pasco, Washington for the 3rd Annual Big River Race

Saturday, May 30th, 2026 for a Half Marathon, 10k, 5k & FREE Fun 1 Mile. Run along one of Eastern Washington's biggest landmarks, the Columbia River. Enjoy a scenic route on paved riverfront trail. This race offers you four different options; a distance for everyone in the family, group of friends or coworkers.

The course will be flat & fast! Perfect for your first time to achieve one of these distances or set a new personal goal. The race will start & end at the west end of the park. All race distances are on a paved path and along the riverfront. Chiawana is a Native word for “Big River”

The Columbia River has provided this region's culture and economy for thousands of years. It is the largest river in the Pacific Northwest. The river forms in the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia, Canada and flows through Washington. This Big River irrigates more than 6,000,000 acres of agricultural land. Agriculture is huge part of our community and is possible because of this valuable water source.

The race course will have fun, themed aid-stations, cheer squads & music along the way. You run the miles, we bring the entertainment and support! We believe your achievements should be celebrated. Invite all the friends and family to come watch you cross the finish line! Chiawana Park as beautiful shade trees, a big grassy park and a gorgeous view of the river. After the race sit, relax, enjoy some post race treats and listen to a live band!!

Bring your family and friends to come support your community in the Royal Family Superhero one-mile Fun Run, 5K and 10K! Royal Family Kids (RFK) is a ministry that organizes a summer camp for foster children in our area. They provide life changing moments for children of abuse and neglect, helping them flourish and begin trusting adults again. For a week of the summer they get to have fun, learn about Jesus, and make meaningful connections with other children and camp leaders.

Foster children often find themselves on paths of academic failure, drug abuse, teen pregnancy, sex trafficking, homelessness and incarceration. Royal Family Kids is an organization with a goal to interrupt these cycles and show children a different path. A highlight of the camp is "everybody's birthday party" where every child gets celebrated with a party complete with games, cake, and presents. We know that one week can make a difference in the life of child!

Your participation in this event provides you the opportunity to be a true Superhero. Your entire registration fee goes directly to RFK, Pasco to help pay the way for these children to attend camp.

All are welcome to come dressed as your favorite superhero, and participate in the One Mile Fun Run, and costume contest. At the start/finish line there will be food truck vendors, face painting, balloon making, and music! Awards and recognition will be given to the top 3 finishers of all events in each gender. The 10K participants will be greeted with a medal at the finish line.

All of the races will start at the Columbia Park bandshell near the Playground of Dreams in Kennewick and run west along the river towards Richland. All races will be an out and back, and there will be aid stations at the 1 mile, 5k, and 10K turn around points with water and gatorade hydration.
