Half Marathon (Mountain Marathon) Sunday, November 15, 11:30 am. to 3:00 pm

This event uses all the same forestry roads the US Rangers train on. Tough YES, but not too tough for runners capable of covering the 13.1 miles. This course starts and finishes on the airfield at Camp Merrill. Almost all of the half marathon course is off-pavement on service roads that curl through the Appalachian Mountains, only feet from the Appalachian Trail. Challenge yourself with two grueling hills where America’s best soldiers are trained. Parking is abundant. Food and Beverage will be available at the on-post service Club, The Overhang, after the event. This includes beer and wine and a full menu. You can count on some active duty Rangers to be running the course. Please visit (link) for further information and to register, or just buy a shirt and support our Ranger Vets.

    2025 Pre-Race Letter

We can't wait to see you this weekend at the Bull Mountain Epic. Please read through the pre-race letter:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EjM7UHZV7FJanhPLMtlWgaQt6EVrY3wLO8rKES52LqY/edit?tab=t.0 A MAJOR note for this yearThe rainfall we had earlier this year has washed out a few areas of the forest service road that takes you to the Bull Mountain parking lot. There are a few large ruts and holes that will be tricky to navigate if you are in a low clearance vehicle. Remember to drive through any deep ruts at an angle and not directly/straight on.As of right now, it looks like we will not have any additional rainfall, so it should be dry (other than the potholes), but please give yourself plenty of time to make the drive up FS 83. If you have the option to carpool with someone in a high clearance vehicle, take advantage of it!If for some reason you cannot attend the race, please go into your UltraSignUp account and withdraw your registration. We will be assigning bibs on Thursday. If you have additional questions that were not answered in this email or the links provided, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.  We can’t wait to see you this weekend!

    EPIC!!

The Bull Mountain Epic offers something for everyone! The Jake and Bull Mountain Trail system is composed of 3 DIFFERENT loops and each loop is approximately 10 miles long. Half Marathoners will run one loop up and over Bull Mountain plus a little double track to complete the distance. 50K runners will complete each of the loops (with 5000' of total elevation gain) once! After each 10 mile loop, you will pass through the main aid station/Start/Finish. There are some technical sections, but it is mostly runnable single track, making this a tough and challenging North Georgia trail race. Waterfalls, multiple stream crossings, rocky climbs and blazing fast descents are just a few of the trail amenities. We will have 3 aid stations stocked with veggie friendly everything: soups, fruits, some hot foods cooking in the evening, normal aid station fare, and of course volunteer specialties being served until the last finisher comes through. There is a 12 hour cut-off for this event. All runners must be on loop 3 by 4pm for the 50k.This is going to be an awesome event for veterans as well as those wanting run their first trail 1/2 marathon or 50K. Awards will be given to top 3 Female and Male Finishers in each event. PACERSPacers are not allowed.

Event's current local time: 4:41 AM ET
