    The 28th Annual 6-Hour Distance Classic! Run or walk as far as you can for up to 6 hours. All certified distances occur concurrently. This contains a USATF-Certified half-marathon and full marathon. You may use your marathon finish time as a Boston Qualifier.

    All timing stops at 2:00 p.m.(6 hours) Partial laps at the end of the race will count, but only if the runner completes the full lap.

    This event is for everyone. Run 1 lap or 45 laps, it's up to you!

    Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish.

    Pricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week, a runner shirt, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event.

    High School: We also welcome our high school runners! Our high school students will be running a 2 mile race.

    Challenger: This Series offers a Challenger Division which is an adaptive 75 yard race for children with disabilities and/or special needs. This allows for parents, siblings, and friends to be on the course with runners to provide support as well as bringing their own supportive devices such as crutches, braces, wheelchairs, etc. to be used by runners.

    Single Day Racing: Single day race registration opens one hour prior to the start of each race. The registration fee covers one single race to be run on the day of registration. ALL single day registrations should be completed onsite at the race location. Single day racers will have the option to upgrade to the full series (see tab on the left side of the page for instructions). There is a strict no-refund and no-transfer policy.

    Awards: All participants receive a medal on Week 5! Trophies will be awarded to the overall top finishers in each of the divisions listed below (broken out by boys and girls respectively):

    The PTF is excited to be hosting our 2nd annual 5k Walk/Run to benefit Genesee County Mental Health Services. The race will start at 10 am on Saturday, April 25th, 2026.

    Packet Pickup and In-Person Registration:

    Friday, April 24th, from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm OR on Race Day, April 25th, starting at 8:45 am to 9:45 am. Packet pickup will be at the Pembroke Intermediate School. Please allow yourself enough time to get set up in the starting area.

    Only the first 250 registered participants will be guaranteed a Sport-Tek Unisex Heart and Sole t-shirt. Register before March 18th to guarantee your size!

    Price (includes the cost of your t-shirt and a donation to Genesee County Mental Health):

    A Buffalo Runner of the Year Race

    A Buffalo tradition the Grand Island Half Marathon has been providing runners a quality running experience and giving back to the community since our inaugural race April 15th, 1995.

    What's Included in This Year's Race

    • RaceJoy Live Tracking: Free phone live tracking, progress alerts, and cheer sending for all participants.

    • FREE Downloadable Photos: Find your photos easily, arranged by bib number. Share them on social media or even upload your own! Photographers will be at the Start, on the course, and at the Finish line to capture your photo finish moment.

    • Commemorative Race Shirt and Medal: Every Half Marathon finisher receives a medal and high-quality shirt to remember your accomplishment.

    • First-Time Half Marathoners: Receive a medal with a distinct ribbon acknowledging your achievement and have a dedicated photo opportunity in front of a first-time 1/2 Marathon placard.

    • Post-Race Party: Held adjacent to the finish line with awards, food, drinks, and music from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM.

    Race Amenities and Logistics

    • Chip Timing: Included for all in-person runners.

    • Hydration Stations: Six stations along the course with race volunteers handing out water and sports drinks for runners, and runners are also welcome to carry their own bottles.

    • Restrooms: Eight portable toilet stations along the course, plus additional facilities in the start/finish area.

    Race Day Details: Saturday, May 2nd, 2026

    • Bib Pickup: 7:30 AM in the main parking lot adjacent to the Start/Finish.

    • Start Time: 9:00 AM.

    • Location: Beaver Island State Park, Grand Island, NY (between Buffalo and Niagara Falls). The race starts and finishes in the main parking lot.

    • The Course: Flat, out-and-back, along the scenic Niagara River. More than 85% of the course is closed to traffic, and there is no time limit to complete the race.

    • Race Gear: Medals and other race giveaways will be available at the finish line.
