Just 30 minutes from Christchurch, Willesden Farms at Kaituna Valley delivers a spectacular Banks Peninsula trail experience shaped by ancient volcanic landscapes, rolling ridgelines, and hidden pockets of native bush. Starting low in the valley, the course climbs steadily through trees and open hill country before bursting onto exposed ridges with sweeping views across Kaitorete Spit, down the coast towards Timaru and over to the Canterbury foothills. Technical in places, flowing in others, and constantly changing, this venue offers a true test of strength and skill — and the perfect stage to launch the series.

Complete all four events in the Winter Trail Run Series to be eligible for series awards, presented to the top three male and female finishers in each age group and distance.

    The Urban Estates Selwyn Marathon will be held on King's Birthday long weekend - Sunday 31st May 2026.

    This starts and finishes at the Lincoln Events Centre in Lincoln.

    The scenery of the event is really that of Selwyn, with the Town of Lincoln and all the development going on, coupled with the Country and Rural feel, even a run through a vineyard. The route takes you through Rossendale Wines off the Akaroa Highway and back out onto Old Tai Tapu Road. Full Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km distances on offer, and a flat, fast course - what else could you ask for?

    The 10km is an out and back route. Sorry you don't get to run through Rossendale Wines but if you are 1st, 2nd or 3rd you will get a sample of the wines.

    I am excited to invite all my fellow dog friends to join me for the "Pawsome Run" at the Canterbury A & P Park. This is our chance to show our humans how much fun running can be. Here are all the details you need to get those tails wagging:

    Every Human competitor receives a Pawsome Medal when they finish and every Dog receives a Pawsome Dog Tag when they finish. I've also talked my humans into making some changes to make the event more exciting for us, with some obstacles to be added and those that want to be competitive, you'll also be timed and get your results.
