We Run Belfast, founded in January 2018 by a group of local runners inspired by London’s Run Dem Crew, has grown into a close-knit community of around 50 members united by a shared love of running and connection. Emphasizing inclusivity and mental wellbeing, the crew welcomes runners of all abilities and backgrounds, encouraging everyone to run at their own pace while fostering support and friendship. Their weekly runs explore Belfast’s vibrant streets and historic landmarks, blending the city’s gritty industrial heritage with green spaces and riverside paths. Beyond running, members gather at their informal headquarters, Oh! Donuts, to share conversations and recharge, creating a warm atmosphere of belonging. In a city marked by a complex past, We Run Belfast offers a space where movement becomes a means of healing and storytelling, connecting people through shared experience rather than competition. The crew’s presence enriches Belfast’s running scene by celebrating community and the city’s unique character.
