Mission Bay 5K

Come be part of history on our 250th birthday and join the Golden Gate Bridge Half 13.1, 10k, 5k race. Enjoy beautiful views of San Francisco and Alcatraz. Take in the smells of the Bay including the salt ocean water mist of the bay, the sour dough of Pier 39, and the chocolate smells of Ghirardelli's. Event details and schedule

Plenty of parking at Pier 39 garages, street parking. Race starts promptly at 8 am between two red traffic cone heads north hugging the bay, and slight incline to get on to the golden gate bridge. There will be orange route arrows in the street/side walks, elevated directional signs and mile makers for the Half 13.1. There will be 5k and 10k turn around cones and elevated signs. Gel/GU, water, Gatorade, first aid every 3 miles. You can do it! Good Luck! Star bucks gift cards 1st male and 1st female in each event. Must wear bib on front torso. The race is chip times USATF sanctioned event. All finishers get a classic forged race medallion.

Out and back course, starting and finishing at Fort Mason, near the Great Meadow. Flat, scenic course. Well, almost flat--the very end has a 0.2 mile challenging finishing hill, but the scenery along the marina and crissy field more than makes up for it. Come for the views and the iconic run where the fastest of SF come to jog! Parking available near the start.

Start by heading eastbound on the San Francisco Bay Trail. Veer left onto the Golden Gate Promenade, continuing along the waterfront path. At the second right, turn sharply into the Crissy Field grass area. Loop through the field with a quick left, heading back toward the beach until you reconnect with the Golden Gate Promenade. Continue along the promenade past Crissy Field toward the Yacht Harbor parking lot. Just before entering the lot, turn right, then make two quick lefts onto Mason Street and Yacht Road, looping back toward the beach. Rejoin the waterfront path along Crissy Field and continue out-and-back in the direction of the Warming Hut to complete the course.
