REM Run the Extra Mile, founded in January 2026 in Milan’s eastern neighborhoods, began as a Sunday run inviting friends to escape solitary long-distance training. The surprising turnout of 70 runners led to forming a welcoming crew focused on monthly long, slow-distance runs, accommodating all paces from easy to tempo. Meeting at La Redazione Scomodo, their social hub, REM fosters a tight-knit community where runs are followed by shared breakfasts, deepening connections beyond the pavement. Emphasizing patience and inclusivity over competition, the crew’s 70 members span diverse ages and abilities, united by a passion for endurance and camaraderie. Their routes weave through Milan’s historic eastern districts, blending urban charm with green spaces. Open to runners from all backgrounds and clubs, REM supports the city’s vibrant running scene by offering a collaborative, social approach to long-distance training that complements major local races like the Milano City Marathon and the Stramilano half marathon.

Running Rebels is a lively and rapidly growing running crew that has been lighting up the canals of Milan, Italy, since the fall of 2024. The crew was formed when five strangers met at a running event and decided to fill a "big blue ocean" in the city's running scene: a group based in the beautiful Navigli district that meets on Mondays. Founded by Filippo, Eugenio, Costanza, Andrea, and Luca, they host a large weekly run every Monday night that serves as both a social gathering and serious workout.
