Flowerboy Run Club was born in January 2023 when Jaryd decided that running alone felt incomplete. Now, twenty members strong, the crew gathers every Wednesday and Saturday at 6 am from their Flowerboy coffee shop in Seseh, Bali, for runs along coastal roads and temple paths. There are no pace requirements, no membership fees, and no gatekeeping here. Everyone from serious distance runners to first-timers belongs. The philosophy is straightforward: show up, lace up, and move together as an act of community. What makes Flowerboy special is its warmth and honesty. Running in Bali looks different through their eyes, with a Balinese sunrise waiting at the end of the first kilometre and a crew that genuinely welcomes anyone through the door.
The alarm rings at 5:45 AM across Canggu villas, Ubud rice paddies, and Uluwatu clifftops. Within an hour, roughly 80 runners from a dozen countries converge at three separate locations, united by a simple promise: the slowest, most social sunrise runs on the island. Hidde van Vliet, who traded Amsterdam's canals for Bali's volcanic trails in 2024, founded Entourage Bali in June 2025 after spotting a gap in the island's fitness scene. The expat and digital nomad community needed connection points that went beyond gym memberships. Entourage Bali built its identity around being "the biggest and slowest run club in Bali", not modesty, but strategy. The easy-to-moderate pace ensures conversations flow naturally between runners from different fitness backgrounds, creating the social fabric that keeps people returning. Tuesday mornings anchor in Ubud with ice baths and saunas; Wednesday rotates through Canggu with local business collaborations; Thursday begins at 6:30 AM from Uluwatu's clifftops. Membership remains free, with no pace minimums. Digital nomads, retreat facilitators, and surf instructors run alongside each other, discovering authentic community on an island known for solitude.
