    Charity

In its 14th year, The BRA Run supports Evelyn’s BFF, a charity that helps breast cancer survivors get back to their new normal while supporting counseling, reconstruction, and other items that people are often not able to get covered by their insurance. Most of our grant recipients have bills going into 6 figures! This event is the biggest fundraiser for this all volunteer organization and determines how many people they can help this year.

Evelyn, the founder of the Evelyn's Breast Friends Forever (BFF), a 501(c)3 non-profit public benefit charity foundation, started this event in 2013 and in her honor we have a 5K and a 13K at the BRA Run.

Join us for Evelyn's party so we all can help other breast cancer survivors and their families. Our event spreads awareness of breast cancer reconstruction to the community by encouraging men and women to run and walk in their BRA (Breast Reconstruction Awareness) in honor and in memory of those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

    Donate to Evelyn's BFF.

    Make it a Virtual Run/Walk

Can't make it in person but want to be a part of the event and support breast cancer survivors? Sign up for the virtual run and we will mail you a bib, shirt and medal.

    Healthcare Hero Grand Marshal

Dr. Debra Mund is a Diagnostic Radiologist and Breast Imaging Specialist at Providence Saint John’s Health Center, where she has practiced since 2005, and serves as adjunct faculty at the Saint John’s Cancer Institute. She and her husband, Scott, live in Beverlywood and are the proud parents of four children and grandparents to three grandchildren. A longtime supporter of Sharsheret, Dr. Mund joined the West Region Advisory Committee in 2022 after many years of speaking in educational roles, and she also serves on the Board of Trustees for Genesis, an educational foundation. She is dedicated to combining her passion for health, education, and community service in her professional and volunteer work.

    Community Hero Grand Marshals

Lisa and Josh Hofheimer will be recognized on race day for their inspiring efforts on behalf of the Sharsheret, cancer, and Los Angeles communities.

Lisa Hofheimer is a private foundation consultant and serves as Executive Director of the Lee Liberman Foundation, which supports nonprofits working to bolster social cohesion and counter polarization. She previously served as Finance Director of the Rosenthal Charitable Trust in Los Angeles and began her career in investment banking, executing private placements for institutions investing in emerging markets.

Diagnosed with breast cancer as a young mom of two in 2002, Lisa met Sharsheret’s founder, Rochelle Shoretz A”H, in the first year of the organization and volunteered as one of the first peer supporters for other women who were diagnosed. Lisa served as the founding Co-Chair of Sharsheret’s California Community Advisory Committee when Sharsheret opened on the West Coast in 2016. Drawing from their own experience as a survivor and caregiver, Lisa and Josh have served as innovative leaders and trusted advisors for Sharsheret locally and nationally over the past 24 years.

    Young Leader Grand Marshals

Close friends Adena Frenkel and Nessia Gottlieb are passionate community builders and longtime supporters of Sharsheret.
