8th Annual Megan's Ride and Walk 2026

A bicycle ride and walk benefiting Morning Dove Therapeutic Riding Center

The purpose of Megan's Ride and Walk is to bring together bike enthusiasts and families for a fun morning of bike riding and walking to celebrate and remember Megan Stancliffe. Megan was a young woman who endured many physical challenges with grace throughout her short life.

About Megan's Ride

This year we are offering marked routes for a 20 and 50 mile bike ride and a route for a 5k walk. The event is moving to Westfield this year and it will be starting from Grand Junction Brewery.

All fees and donations from the event will benefit Morning Dove Therapeutic Riding Center. All participants who register before July 10, 2026 will receive a free t-shirt.

Celebrating the Amazing Megan

The purpose of the ride and walk is to bring together bike enthusiasts and families for a fun morning of bike riding and walking to celebrate and remember Megan Stancliffe. Megan was a young woman who endured many physical challenges with grace throughout her short life. Megan passed away at age 23 in July 2017 as a result of complications from cerebral palsy, which she contracted when she was only two weeks old. Despite the fact that Megan wasn't able to talk, endured many surgeries, and was confined to a wheelchair, she lived life with a spirit of adventure enjoying pastimes such as riding an adaptive bicycle, horseback riding, canoeing, and zip-lining. Participating in Megan's Ride and Walk honors the memories of Megan and her positive spirit.

Benefiting Morning Dove Therapeutic Riding Center

Founded in 1998, Morning Dove Therapeutic Riding Center provides equine-assisted services to children and adults throughout the Indianapolis community with physical, cognitive, behavioral, and emotional disabilities. Our program follows the standards and protocols established by PATH International and is led by a team of instructors with extensive training and strong equine experience. At Morning Dove, we strive to create a positive and supportive environment where participants can build meaningful relationships with horses while developing confidence, independence, and new skills. As part of the therapeutic riding community, we are honored to celebrate Megan's life with the Stancliffe family and are grateful to have been chosen as the beneficiary of this event. Ready to get your run and groove on? Join us for the Opening Act 5K run/walk positioned to kick off Carmel PorchFest. You will be "part of the show" by participating. Strategically timed with a 10:30 AM start on Sunday, you will have time to finish, socialize then walk through MidTown to the start of PorchFest, just three blocks away. MidTown is in the DORA district so if you partake in an adult beverage, you are free to walk around MidTown with the special cup we provide. Enjoy post-race refreshments, music and more with specials from MidTown restaurants.

This timed 5K will include age group awards, medals and official event shirt. The course starts and finishes on the Monon Blvd at MidTown and takes runners north on the Monon, west towards Meadowlark Park then south to City Center Drive then back north to the finish.

THE BIG NEWS! This is where you are a part of the show! A jazz band will arrive at 11:45 AM and march the group north on the Monon to the start of PorchFest!! Think Mardi Gras fun coming to Carmel.

Proceeds benefit the Carmel PorchFest Grant Program, the program created to provide financial support to students interested in the musical arts to cover such items as new instruments, lessons, schooling, musical opportunities, etc. in exchange for volunteer hours.

Join us for this inaugural event to make it a tradition of running, music and fun!
