The Mountain Mushroom Festival is a celebration of the morel mushroom and Kentucky agates presented by the City of Irvine and Festival Committee. It provides a weekend of activities and entertainment for everyone. We would like to invite you to become a part of the fun!

  • Race Day Schedule & Information

  • Registration/Check-In: 7:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. at corner of 199 Broadway & Estill Ave., Irvine

  • Start Times: 8:30 a.m. for 2K and 9:00 a.m. for 5K

  • Awards will be given following the race at the Finish Line

  • Snacks and drinks will be served at the Finish Line.

  • Assisting Organization: The Kiwanis Club of Irvine-Ravenna will assist with the race.

  • Entry Fee: Make check/money order payable to Mountain Mushroom Festival and return to Irvine City Hall

  • T-Shirt: The fee includes a t-shirt with a running Morel. Shirt size availability depends on the number registered. Those who pre-register will have their t-shirt reserved and bagged at the pre-registration table at check-in if not picked up before the race at city hall. Register early to guarantee getting your t-shirt size. Check your t-shirt size on the registration form.

  • Medals/Prizes 5K:

  • 1st Overall Male and Female runners will receive $50 and an overall winner medal

  • Age Group Awards: Male and Female

  • Medals (gold - 1st place, silver - 2nd place, bronze - 3rd place) will go to the first three females and male finishers in the different age divisions

  • 5K: 13 and under 14-16 17-19 20-24 25-29 30-34 35-39 40-44 45-49 50-54 55-59 60-64 65-69 70-74 75+

  • Pancake Breakfast at Irvine Masonic Lodge #37

  • Pancakes, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, juice, milk, and coffee will be served from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Lodge located next to the starting line on Broadway.

  • The cost will be $10 for adults and $7 for children from 5 to 12 years of age. Children 4 and under eat free.

    Come join us in the beautiful Red River Gorge for the first annual Howlin' Wolfe 25k/50K. Starting and finishing at Natural Bridge State Resort Park runners will have the opportunity to see several fantastic natural features in the Red River Gorge. The race will feature a mixture of road running, single track trail, and fire road. We are limiting this edition of the race to 200 runners between both events so make sure you register early!

    100% of the race proceeds will benefit Legacy of Hope Restored (LHR), a U.S. based nonprofit that works to feed, educate, and mentor the economically poor and marginalized through meaningful partnerships with schools and organizations in the communities they serve. They currently help support two programs that are empowering children and their families in Cartagena, Colombia and Mendoza, Argentina.

    • In Cartagena, Colombia they started a tutoring program to help children falling behind in school get the help that they need to not only survive,but thrive.

    • In Mendoza, Argentina they support an educational program that serves at-risk children and families. PEPE's provides educational support, basic needs, and a supportive community for the children and families in their community.

    KONA ICE KIDS COLOR RUN:

    In addition to our 5K, we're offering a Color Run for those 5-12 years old! This event will be a 1K race. This race will not be professionally timed/tracked. The route will go around the lake where each runner will be splashed with color as music plays and people cheer them on. Walk or Run - goal is for everyone in the family to have a good time!! Plus, every child that participates will get Free Kona after the race.

    Bluegrass Bully Rescue, INC is a non-profit, volunteer dog rescue organization serving the Central Kentucky area. They save dogs from shelters and take in owner surrenders and get them into foster homes. Dogs receive all the vetting they could need. When they’re adopted, the dogs/puppies are fully vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered.
