The Run4Don is an annual event featuring 5K and 15K races held in Gainesboro, Tennessee. The courses navigate through the peaceful downtown area and extend along the calming banks of the Cumberland River. Certified with little elevation gain, the routes are favored by competitive runners seeking personal best times.

Join us in honoring Donald Chaffin as we run and walk to support students pursuing a Christian education and to fund research for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), with the hope of discovering a cure for Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Register by 9 p.m. Sun, Sept 20 for a guaranteed t-shirt on race day.

The Race for the Golden Helix 5K (GH5K) is an annual 5 km (3.1 mile) open-road race around the beautiful campus of Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN. The GH5K is professionally timed. All parking on the Tennessee Tech University campus is free and available to the public on the weekends. You will not be ticketed unless you park in a spot that is specifically reserved. The best parking for the race is behind the TN Tech STEM Center, along Stadium Drive, near the Laboratory Science Commons (LSC) and Stonecipher Auditorium.

The race is organized by the Student Affiliates of the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) with the assistance of the Student Members of the American Chemical Society (SMACS) and the Chem-Med Club. The race is co-sponsored by the Tennessee Technological University Student Government Association SOLO Fund so that all students may race at no cost. Proceeds from the GH5K benefit the ASBMB and SMACS clubs, and the Upper Cumberland Remote Area Medical (RAM) Clinic at Cookeville High School.

This year's race may be SOLO-funded for current TN Tech students to race for FREE using code (AWESOME). Students MUST present valid student ID at packet pick-up to be able to race.
