ITC Monthly Club Race

NOTE - THE APRIL RACE IS A HANDICAP FORMAT FOR BOTH SHORT AND LONG COURSE!

This means we work out start times based on past races. So the slowest will go off first and the fastest at the end. The aim is that everyone will finish close together and everyone is a chance at first over the line.

You will get a start time at signon on the day.

Join us for our monthly tri club races in one of the most scenic locations in the Illawarra!

We cater for all levels and abilities - First timers, Paralympians, former and future World Champions! All participants and ability levels welcome.

All events are conducted with sanctioning by AusTriathlon

For Adults and ages 12+ our standard club races are a non-drafting format during the bike portion unless otherwise directed, with staggered swim wave starts depending on expected finish time and experience level to maximise your enjoyment while competing (or smiling and completing!).

For Kids Triathlons (U12) a race briefing on the length of each swim / bike / run will be run through by our Race Director before the start of each Kids Triathlon. We encourage Parents & Responsible Adults to get involved with your little triathlete during their event, especially helping them going into the water for their swim if the need some assistance. We want a fun and supportive environment for our young athletes, and cheering on or giving a helping hand is greatly encouraged through their event to help them get to the finish if its needed.

We will have an race briefing by our Club Race Director before the start of each race with any extra details you need before starting.

6:45am - Registration & transition opens (Adults, U12+ & Kids Triathlon)

7:15am - Registration closes; Race Briefing (Adults & 12+ Triathlon)

7:30am - Race Start (Age-group based waves, Adults & 12+ Triathlon)

8:00am - Registration closes, Transition Setup (Kids Triathlon)

8:30am - Kids Triathlons start

9:00am - Post Race & Club presentations

A short Achknowledgement of Country, welcome and race briefing will be provided in the transition area prior to race start by our Race Director. Don't forget to hang around post race for a quick Club update, and possible prize give aways!

Parking is available in the car park of Five Islands Secondary College and along Glouchester Blvd up to our road closures for all participants and spectators.

Race Distances:

• Club distance: 400m swim / 13.2km bike / 4.4km run (Handicap)

• Short Club distance: 200m swim / 6.6km bike / 2.2km run (Handicap)

The swim is a 1 or 2 lap open water ocean swim with water safety provided by Wollongong First Aid.

The ride consists of a 3 or 6 lap return course along Gloucester Blvd between Five Islands Secondary College and MM Beach. The road closed to general traffic by traffic management.

The run is a 1 or 2 lap course that takes place on the footpath overlooking beautiful MM Beach and the Illawarra's five islands off the coast.

ITC club races are open to athletes of all levels and abilities. If you aren't feeling up to your registered distance, you can also race a shorter distance. Just chat at Registration on the day and we'll help you out.

Run Wollongong is back in 2026!

Get ready to experience the hype of Run Wollongong in 2026. We sold out in 2025, but this year, we are back bigger than ever.

The route circles the iconic lighthouse and Wollongong Harbour, offering spectacular ocean views that inspire and challenge. Concluding in Lang Park, this event promises a picturesque backdrop for seasoned marathoners and casual runners alike, making it a must-run for every enthusiast.

Whether you're aiming for a personal best or enjoying a scenic run, we have a distance for you:

• 42.2km Marathon – Two laps of the breathtaking course

• 21.1km Half Marathon – A scenic route showcasing Wollongong's beauty

• 10km Kerryn McCann 10 – Honouring a local legend

• 5km Fitness 5 – A fun and fast course for all abilities

• 5km Elite Entry – Male PB under 15:00. Female PB under 17:30. Submit an expression of interest here.

• 5km Preferred Entry – Male/Female PB under 18:30. Submit an expression of interest here.

• 2km Turbo 2 – Perfect for kids and families

Wollongong Running Festival

The Wollongong Running Festival will enter an exciting new chapter in 2026, with Race Hub Australia announced as the new event owner and delivery partner.

Join us at Lang Park for the Wollongong Running Festival on Sunday, 7 June 2026! Choose from a 21.1 km Half Marathon, 10 km, 5 km, or 2 km Family Dash.

Since being rebranded as the Wollongong Running Festival in 2021, the event has gone from strength to strength and become Wollongong's largest running event. The festival is widely recognised for celebrating freedom of running and Wollongong's active coastal culture, attracting runners of all abilities from across the region and beyond.

Participants enjoy a vibrant event village, cheer squads, live music, and a spectacular course that weaves together trail and coastal paths with stunning ocean views. The event is both family-friendly and professionally delivered, with accurately measured and timed courses that cater to everyone from fun runners to serious competitors.

All event finishers will receive a 2026 Wollongong Running Festival-themed medal, post-race snacks, sponsor giveaways, and an online finisher's certificate.

This October, over the course of one unforgettable week, push your limits on a self-supported 1260km course with 17,700m of elevation, on a mix of sealed and gravel surfaces.

The route runs in a giant loop from Wollongong on the stunning NSW South Coast along awesome country roads, Aussie bush, rivers and scenic valleys, and up into the majestic Snowy Mountain Alps.

Riders must complete the course within 157 hours, navigating the route, getting their brevet card stamped at each of the 3 Checkpoints along the way.

Entrants have the choice of entering as:

Solo, Pairs Team or 4-person Relay Team.

However you decide to ride, this epic challenge requires riders to be well prepared and manage rest and resupply along a fantastic route to complete the course.
