Get ready for an unforgettable day of gravel racing in the heart of Appalachia at Race #2 of the WV Gravel Series! Based out of the historic town of Philippi, West Virginia, this event delivers rugged gravel roads, challenging climbs, scenic mountain views, and rich local history that make West Virginia gravel racing unlike anywhere else.

With three course options, there is truly something for everyone:

• Long Course – 68.4 Miles https://ridewithgps.com/routes/50004228 Start Time: 10:00am

• Medium Course – 41.6 Miles https://ridewithgps.com/routes/54561173 Start Time: 11:00am

• Short Course – 28.5 Miles https://ridewithgps.com/routes/55195004 Start Time: 12:00pm

All routes will start and finish in historic Philippi, home to the famous Philippi Covered Bridge and the site of the first organized land battle of the Civil War. Riders will experience the beauty and character of Barbour County while traveling through remote gravel roads, rolling farmland, and classic Appalachian mountain terrain.

One of the signature features of this race is the legendary Arden Grade. Once used as an important transportation route through the mountains for timber, coal, and railroad operations, Arden Grade now offers riders an epic gravel packed with history, grit, and incredible scenery along the Tygart River. The grade is a true West Virginia test piece and will leave racers with stories they will never forget.

Riders tackling the Long Course will continue deeper into the mountains toward Belington, West Virginia. Belington has deep railroad and coal mining roots and played an important role in the development of the region during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Today, the town serves as a gateway to some of the best backcountry gravel roads in the state.

Expect fast descents, hard-earned climbs, creek crossings, incredible mountain views, and the unmatched atmosphere that makes the WV Gravel Series https://www.wvgravelseries.com/ special. Whether you are chasing podium spots, testing your endurance, or simply looking for an amazing day on the bike, this race delivers an authentic Appalachian gravel experience.

We are proud to partner with Mountaineer Gravel https://www.visitmountaineercountry.com/gravel-routes/ to help showcase the best gravel riding West Virginia has to offer.

Come race, explore, and experience the grit and beauty of West Virginia gravel!

See ya there!

Cheers,

Registration Check-in and Packet Pick-up will start at 8:00am in downtown Philippi. Cross the covered bridge then turn left, and look for the Race Start/Finish Arch.
