Please join us in our 4th Annual Joshua 1:9 Run for Recovery 5k event on March 21st, 2026!

Who Are We: Joshua 1:9 Run for Recovery's vision is to overcome addiction by providing funding for individuals seeking treatment in Tennessee.

Our Why: Our Annual 5K is dedicated to the memory of Joshua Aaron Mitchell. Josh was a Son, Brother and Friend to many and was always looking for ways to help and love others around him. When Josh came out of rehab, his first and only priority was to help his friends who were still battling the disease of addiction. His goal was to help his friends seek treatment and find recovery just as he had. We want to honor Josh and continue what he started by assisting individuals in our community with the ability to afford and access rehabilitation resources.

What: The Registration Fee will be $35.00 to sign up for the 5K and that includes a T-Shirt (all ages). For those not wanting to participate but want to support our community the T-Shirt Only option is $20.00. All of the donations we receive will go back into our community, funding individuals seeking treatment. The only way to guarantee a T-Shirt with your size is to register BEFORE MARCH 1st!

Where: The 5k will start at Houston County High School (2500 Highway 149, Erin, TN 37061) at 8:00 a.m. and end at Traditions First Bank (5745 E Main St, Erin, TN 37061) Parking will be at the High School and the race will start near the tennis courts. Concluding the race, we will provide a shuttle that will bring runners back to their vehicles at the High School.

Awards: We will host an Award ceremony following the race. If you are unable to stay for the awards the winners will also be announced on the Joshua 1:9 Run for Recovery Facebook Page by 6:00 pm on March 21st!

Packet Pick-Up: March 20, 2026 at Erin Church of the Nazarene (11 College St, Erin, TN 37061) from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm or you can pick up the morning of the race at Houston County High School between 7:15-7:50 a.m.

Life;Story is Centerstone’s national walk/run for suicide prevention, bringing communities together across Illinois, Tennessee, and Florida for a day of hope, healing, and connection. Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome, from families with strollers and kids in the youth races to runners with dogs and virtual supporters joining from afar.

In Tennessee, the event takes on an additional focus: the start and finish lines sit just miles from the gates of Fort Campbell, home to the decorated 101st Airborne Division, the 5th Special Forces Group, and the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. Here, Life;Story also serves to honor the brave service members, veterans, and military families who have carried the invisible wounds of war—reminding them they are seen, valued, and never alone.

The semicolon in Life;Story symbolizes a pause—not an ending—and reflects the belief that every person’s story has more ahead. That spirit is felt throughout race day with a welcoming, supportive atmosphere filled with community vendors, mental health and military‑specific resources, free giveaways, and crowd‑favorite perks like an event T‑shirt, finisher medal, and access to our curated Spotify playlist.

Proceeds from Life;Story in Tennessee help provide critical mental health and addiction services for individuals with limited or no resources—including dedicated support for military service members, veterans, and their families. By participating, you’re helping save lives, strengthening your community, and reminding others that their story matters—and that it’s far from over.

A $5 discount is available to 1st Responders using promo code, 1STRESPONDER5, and to Military/Veterans using promo code MILITARY5.
