    The 5K route winds through the scenic streets of Solon and is a flat course suitable for all skill levels.

    Before the race, kids can participate in the Donut Dash, where they'll enjoy a short dash and tasty treats.

    Race Day Registration/Check-In begins at 7:00 am

    Kid's Donut Dash Start (1/8 - 1/2 mile): 7:45 am

    • We'll run 1 heat for kids 7-12 (1/2 mile) and a second heat for kid's 3-6 (1/8 mile)

    • Donut Dash Start is in the back of the Community Center on the path - in front of Full Truth Ministries

    5K Start 8:15 am

    • 5K Start is on Portz Parkway, in front of the Community Center / Finish is in the back of the Community Center

    Fees: 5K: $20 - $5 surcharge race weekend ------ Kid's Dash: $15

    Included: Age Group and Overall awards, a Solon race shirt, chip-timed 5K results, and post-race snacks & refreshments.

    Award Categories: Top Male and Female Finisher, Top 3 Male and Female Finishers in the following age groups:

    14 and Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over

    Age Group Awards will be formally announced at 9:00 AM inside the community center.

    Chip Timed. Water at each mile. Police controled course. Course used Gates Mills Blvd out and back.

    Second half of course uses trail in middle of Gates Blvd. Tie Dye T shirts to participants. Water at start & finish.

    Refreshments at end of race. Award ceremony at Pepper Pike Park Pavillion.

    Both the 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will begin at Chesterton Athletic Field at 10:00am. Pre-registered participants will receive a short-sleeved race t-shirt; there will also be a limited quantity of t-shirts available for those who register day-of. All 5K runners (or walkers!) will receive a race bib with a chip to keep track of their times, and the top 5 finishers will receive prizes!

    Race Details:

    Race starts and ends at Chesterton Athletic Field, which is the field at the corner of N Park Blvd, Shelburne Rd, and Chesterton Rd in Shaker Heights, OH. Those who pre-registers will receive a short sleeve race t-shirt. A limited amount of race t-shirts will be available for those who register on the day of the race.

    Teams:

    Gather your friends and family and run together as a team! Running as a group has benefits including a discounted rate as well as a team costume contest where the best outfit will be taking home a prize!

    Awards:

    Awards will be given to the Top 5 Overall Runners.

    This race is only the beginning of SCCE's journey. The proceeds from the event will be invested into Calvert Impact's Cut Carbon Note, an investment project focusing on sustainability in commercial buildings, a large source of carbon emissions worldwide.     The Twins Days 5K Fun Run & Walk will take place on Sunday morning at Dodge Intermediate School, which is across the street from the festival site. Walkers and strollers are also welcome. There will also be a kids' "fun run" of just under ¼ mile on the track. All runners registered before July 31 will be guaranteed to receive a custom event t-shirt which will be designed to match the festival theme - Totally Two-bular! Registrations after 7/31 will be subject to availability on the first come, first served basis. Light snacks and refreshments provided following the race. This event intends to promote and enjoy fitness while raising money for a worthy cause. PROCEEDS BENEFIT EMPOWER SPORTS.

    Who We Run For:

    Empower Sports exists to enrich the lives of athletes of diverse challenges through sports and exercise while promoting kindness, character, and tolerance. They believe that EVERY athlete should have an opportunity to participate in the games they love and that sports can be used to shatter false stereotypes of people with special needs. Empower Sports is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to providing sports and exercise programs for children and adults with various physical and cognitive disabilities.
