When Jordan was 22 weeks pregnant, she and her husband, Danny, found out that their unborn son had gastroschisis ─ a birth defect where a baby is born with their organs outside of their body.

Jordan and Danny traveled from their West Tennessee home to deliver their son, Benton, in Memphis. Benton was taken to Le Bonheur a few hours after he was born and underwent his first surgery. Within the first week of life, Benton had seven surgeries to repair his intestines.

For 153 days, Benton called Le Bonheur’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) home. He received expert care from the NICU team who became like family.

Once Benton underwent a successful surgery to close his abdomen, he was able to go home. Jordan and Danny were in constant contact with the gastrointestinal team at Le Bonheur to update them on her son’s progress, and at 7 months old, Benton was able to wean off of IV nutrition.

When Benton had complications with his bowels, he was able to see a Le Bonheur doctor closer to home at the Le Bonheur Outpatient Center in Jackson, Tenn.

“We are grateful to be able to rely on the same people who have cared for Benton since his birth,” Jordan said. “Being able to go to Jackson and receive care from Le Bonheur is amazing. I don’t have to take an entire day off work to go to Memphis, and Benton’s entire medical history is already there.”

Benton had an additional surgery in 2024, and today, he returns for follow-up appointments in Jackson every six months.

Now 10 years old, Benton loves to hunt, fish and play baseball ─ all the typical kid activities that his parents weren’t sure he would be able to do when he was a baby.

Le Bonheur is proud to provide West Tennessee kids specialized pediatric care close to home. When you participate in this year’s Pumpkin Run, you are making a difference for kids like Benton.

A New Venue. A New but Meaningful Date. The Same Heart.

Join us on October 15, 2026, for the Heaven’s Cradle Twilight Run & Sunset Rendezvous — now hosted at beautiful Union University.

This year’s event carries even deeper meaning as we intentionally gather on Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day, observed annually on October 15th around the world. Together beneath the twilight sky, we will honor babies deeply loved and forever remembered while surrounding families with hope, compassion, and community.

Our new venue at Union University offers a scenic race setting, expanded gathering spaces, and an even more memorable evening experience for participants and supporters alike.

Whether you run, walk, volunteer, sponsor, or simply come to remember, every step taken during the Twilight Run makes a difference. Your participation helps Heaven's Cradle continue to provide essential resources and support to families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss throughout West Tennessee. With your help, Heaven's Cradle is able to provide caring cradles so families have a little extra time with their babies, assistance with memorial and funeral arrangements, access to grief counseling and therapy, as well as ongoing care, compassion and community support. So please join us for this year's Twilight Run & Sunset Rendezvous- an event where every step counts!

    The evening will include:

    • Timed 5K Run

    • 1 Mile Fun Walk

    • Post-race meal and fellowship

    • Sunset gathering atmosphere

    • Memorial moments and remembrance opportunities

    • Music, vendors, and community fellowship

    • Special tributes honoring babies and families

Together, we light the way for families walking through loss — honoring every baby, every story, and every step.
