A first of its kind half marathon in the quad city areas of Northern Minnesota's Iron Range. The race will start with participants meeting at the Iron Trail Motors Event Center in Virginia, Minnesota the morning of August 15th. Busses will transport participants to the Mesabi Trail headquarters in Eveleth, Minnesota. The race starts in Eveleth at the trail head and continues through the beautiful North woods from Eveleth through Gilbert and into Virginia on the Mesabi Trail, including the iconic Thomas Rukavina Memorial bridge (the highest bridge in Minnesota) ending at the ITMEC. Awards:

Official results and age division awards will be based on your Chip time.

Age Divisions are as follows:

12-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-99

Friday evening will be our second year of our 5k event! The race will begin and end at the iron trail event center, and it will be a timed event with the same age divisions. Come join us for some fun to kick off the big half marathon weekend!

August 14th FREE kids run starts at 5pm and 5k will be at 6pm at Iron Trail Motors Event Center.

    BIB PICK-UP: 5:30-6:30pm

    START TIMES: Racers will self-seed on race day. All times will be combined regardless of start wave. Awards will be given to the top finishers per age group regardless of start wave

    • Wave 1: 7:00pm (competitive)

    • Wave 2: 7:20 (recreational)

    • Wave 3 7:40 (relaxed).

    AWARDS: Awards will be at approximately 8pm. Street sign awards for males and females places 1-3 in the following age groups

    • 0-13

    • 14-24

    • 25-34

    • 35-44

    • 45-54

    • 55 and up

    FINISHERS: All finishers will receive a First Avenue Mile keychain and refreshments.

    T-SHIRTS: are guaranteed for the first 250 registrations.

    REGISTRATION: All participants must register online. Please register prior to arrival to expedite bib pick up

    • $15 early bird: May 1 - June 12

    With close to 1,500 participants each year, our Wednesday Night at the Races series has become one of our most popular Young Athletes Foundation (YAF) programs! Helping at a young age to build a love of running, these races are also central to our mission of providing pathways and opportunities for our community’s children to live healthy and active lifestyles.

    The Wednesday Night at the Races series is FREE and open to any child ages 14 & under. Whether it’s your child’s first-ever race or they’ve just fallen in love with running, we’d love to see them at our next event!

    In-person check-in will start at 5:00 PM.

    The races will start at 6:00 p.m. on each of the dates listed below. Every participant is a champion and will receive a ribbon and snacks at the end of their event. All sites are wheelchair and adaptive participant accessible. Please see a race official when you arrive.
