Holland and South Haven are two of Michigan’s most beloved beach towns so we figured, why not connect them?
We’re partnering with the fine folks at Velo City
Cycles in Holland for an overnight wander along the west side of our beautiful state. And for this trip, we’re leaning into a couple of our favorite Bs: bikes and BBQ. Saturday night, after our ride into South Haven, we’ll settle in and enjoy some seriously good BBQ.
We’ll be staying at Kal-Haven Outpost – 50 acres of peaceful nature right along the Kal-Haven Trail.
Sunday starts with a pancake breakfast, followed by some time to explore before we roll back toward Holland.
This route is packed with everything we love – scenic trails, quiet dirt roads, and glimpses of Lake Michigan woven between our favorite beach towns. We’ll stop for lunch in Saugatuck on Saturday, then switch things up on Sunday as we head inland, riding through the Allegan State Game Area.
The Westside Wander is the perfect way to get your fix of Michigan’s summer beauty.

Pedal The Pigeon is not only a race for kids, it’s a celebration of accomplishment and a bike party for friends and
family. We hope to see you and all your little rippers out there! Yes, this is a race…but we are biking in the woods with our friends, let’s HAVE FUN no matter how fast we are going.

Cost: $30 per racer (price includes a number plate and other race goodies), Young Bird racers are $10. All proceeds go directly to Velo Kids programming, helping get more kids on bikes and providing scholarships for our Bike Camps and Clubs. Thank you!

Young Birds - ½ mile race for balance bike riders (kids ages 18 month to 3) – 9:00am
Homing Pigeons - 1 mile race for beginner mountain bikers (recommended ages 3-5, depends on ability) – 9:30am
Baja Tumblers - 2.5 mile race for intermediate mountain bikers (recommended ages 6-9, depends on ability) – 10:00am
Racing Homers - 5 mile race for experienced mountain bikers (recommended ages 10-15, depends on ability) – 10:45am
Online registration will close on August 11 at 9pm. Race day registration will be available! Registration opens at 8:30am, $40 for 1-5 mile races and $20 for Young Birds Balance Bike Race.

Important: Plan your Ride so that you can finish by 3:30 p.m. Please allow extra time to visit and relax at our fun stops along your ride. Route maps will be available on-line and at your check-in.
A free concierge service will deliver any purchases from the route stops to your starting point.
Snacks and water are provided at most of the tour/rest stops.
Lunch will be served at the Glenn Community Center from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Lunch will also be available at the two starting points from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
