The Social Work Student organizations, Phi Alpha Honors Society, and Title IV-E program at California State University, Fresno are hosting a Child Abuse/Foster Care Awareness 5K Run/Walk, which will not only raise awareness about child abuse and Foster Care but also incorporate a wellness component for families. This dual-purpose event aims to both advocate for child safety and foster care, raising awareness of the need to support the well-being of families, caregivers, and foster youth. By promoting self-care and providing resources for mental and physical well-being, this event seeks to increase family and individual well-being. Proceeds will support next year's event to make this an annual event.

The Ruth McKenzie Table Mountain Preserve (2960 acres) is located between Friant and Prather, on the north side of Auberry Road. The main gate is 3.3 miles uphill from the intersection of Auberry Road and Millerton Road.

The McKenzie Preserve was acquired in trust from The Nature Conservancy in 1998. The property had previously been placed in a trust by its owner, Ruth Bea McKenzie, who wanted it to remain in ranching and open space after her death.The McKenzie Preserve is primarily grassland and oak woodland that slopes upward toward the basalt lava table lands that give the preserve its name.

The preserve includes a significant portion of one of the flat-topped tables that are visible from the road. In spring, rain water collects in the table’s low spots, forming vernal pools. Since the basalt is impermeable, these pools hold water for several weeks or months until it eventually evaporates. The pools provide habitat for rare plants and crustaceans that “come to life” in the presence of the water. When the pools dry up in late spring, these crustaceans become seeds or cysts in order to survive the rest of the year. On the far side of the table formations, out of sight of Auberry Road, the land slopes steeply down to the San Joaquin River. These north-facing slopes sustain an excellent mix of pine forest and chaparral. The preserve also includes a 47-acre parcel along the creek on the south side.

Small town vibes meet big time fun! Bring the whole family to walk or run a 5K or 2K distance down Pollasky Street, showcasing our local small business. Then head over to the After Party for fun and camaraderie with a beer garden, music, food trucks, vendors and more! All of Clovis coming out to support each other and the amazing Rodeo we are known for! Any Age, any Ability, all Welcome! T-Shirt and exclusive Belt Buckle Finishers Medal for all participants!

Join us for our annual 5k / 2 mile race to support the pets at Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center! Choose our competitive chip-timed 5k race for our racers who want a little bit of friendly competition, choose our non-competitive 2 mile walk great for your pets, kids, and friends, or register for our Virtual 5k where you can do your race anywhere and still get the benefits of our shirt and finisher medal! All festivities will take place on the Clovis Trail starting at the 120 N. Clovis parking lot and the race will primarily be on paved asphalt. Dogs are permitted provided they are on a leash or strapped into a stroller or backpack.

Join us in celebrating our 15th year when we host runners in our Half Marathon, 10k and 5k Run as half and 10k participants run through Sea Lion Cove, African Adventure and NEW KINGDOM OF ASIA at Fresno Chaffee Zoo, with a grand finish at Chukchansi Stadium. Or choose our Rock and Run 5k, it doesn't go through the Zoo, but has all of the other benefits of the Half Marathon.

The Half Marathon is a 20 point race in the CLASSIC Runner of the Year Series!
