This is a fun 5k and 1 mile walk/run at the beautiful Camp Whitewood! Proceeds benefiting our 2026 Ashtabula County Camp Whitewood Counselors to help make a great week of camp for all our youth!

Day-of Registration/Packet Pickup: 7:30 am – 8:15 am

Race Course:

5k - Combination of road racing and trails throughout Camp Whitewood

1 Mile – Trail race through the main property of camp starting at the pavilion.

*Shirt guaranteed to those who register by May 1st . Limited supply after. $2 extra for 2XL and larger.

5K Awards: Overall male and female winners receive race swag. 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place finishers in each age group (Male & Female) will receive a finishers prize.

1 Mile Awards: All participants will receive a finishers prize.

Age categories: 9 and younger, 10-14, 15–19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over.

    Proceeds from the Mosquito Lake Chase are dedicated to the Oscar Grant Scholarship Fund and other Maplewood Running Rockets activities. Oscar Grant was a teacher, coach, official, WWII Veteran, and friend of all that met him.

    Entry Fee: $22 fee for pre-registered runners, the race day entry fee is $25. Shirts are guaranteed for the first 100 registrants.

    Both races start at 9:00 am. Packet pick-up and day-of-race registration will be held at Maplewood High School located just east of Mecca Circle on Route 88. Day-of-race registration begins at 7:30 am.

    Prize money awards will be presented in the 5K to the top 3 male and female finishers overall: $75, $50, and $25. Awards will also be presented to the top 3 finishers of the 5K and the first finisher of the mile in each of these age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over, male and female.
