Cahuilla Indian Reservation (ka•WEE•yuh)
Enjoy a unique opportunity to run on Cahuilla Indian Reservation located in Anza, California. This unique event is a fundraiser for the tribe's Youth and Family Programming which puts on events for the tribe's youth throughout the year. Learn about the culture and history of the Cahuilla people while enjoying the beautiful mountain desert climate. 24 hour runners will enjoy a beautiful star filled sky at night in the quiet serene landscapes of Cahuilla Indian Reservation. Camp out on the softball field with your friends and crew, as you do the 2-mile loop and challenge yourself to see how many miles you can get in before time is up. Half Marathon runners get a 13 mile tour of the reservation on 13 miles of rez roads. Note: this race is not the Elder Creek Races nor is it associated with the Elder Creek Races. This is a Native-organized event that aims to provide a culturally educational experience while providing a top notch running experience.

The course is a runnable 2 mile loop on double track dirt road. 170 feet of elevation gain and 8,500 ft over 100 miles is not completely flat but is enough to make it interesting. There will be an aid station at the Softball Field with real food and typical aid station foods. There will be hot foods and real foods such as hot dogs, burgers, veggies burgers, pizza, spaghetti, quesadillas, cups of noodles, bacon, etc. There will also be real non-porta-potty bathrooms. NEW 2026 RULE Runners in the 6/12/24hr race will have an official result that is limited to the mileage they complete in their given race. This means that runners in the 24hr will no longer be allowed to continue past 24hrs to earn a 100 mile buckle. If you wish to go after a buckle, sign up for the 100 mile race and accept the risk of a DNF if you do not make it. If you sign up for the 24hr you will receive whatever mileage you get within 24hrs, even if it is 98 miles. If you get 100 miles within 24hrs you will get a buckle.
RV/Camping/Parking
RV parking will be allowed at no additional cost but will be limited to 20 spots. Tent camping will be allowed on the softball field and car camping will also be allowed in the dirt parking lot adjacent to the softball field. Half Marathon runners will not be given the option to camp overnight in order to save space for the 24H participants. The Cahuilla Casino Hotel might have availability and is located about 3 miles from the race start. Book ahead. Prices generally go up to $200 a night if you want until race weekend. They are pretty cheap if you reserve in advance.
100 Mile Race
The 100 mile race will take place on the same 2 mile double track dirt road loop as the fixed time (24h/12h/6h) races. The cutoff will be 30hrs, 1pm Sunday. 24hr runners will be expected to stop at 24hrs. They will no longer be allowed to run beyond 24hrs to get a buckle. This is to disallow mid-race changes to your registration which might affect podium standings. 100 MILE FINISHERS WILL RECEIVE A BUCKLE***. Buckles are limited to people who signed up before September. The Sheridan Company buckles are beautifully intricate and therefore take 3 months to receive after ordering. Because of their price they cannot be ordered in bulk. They will therefore be ordered according to sign up. Anyone who does not get a buckle on race day will be mailed their buckle after the race. The course has approximately 8,500 ft of gain in 100 miles, subtle rolling hills, the elevation graph can be found in the gallery here on Ultrasignup or on the website.

Check out the hotel located 5 miles from race site. Make reservations today for your crew . You will be allowed an on site camp spot as well if so desired.
NO MID RACE CHANGES
A new, or rather re-emphasized, rule for 2026 is there will be no mid race changes to a different race other than the one you signed up for. If you signed up for the 100 and want to drop to the 24 you will not be allowed to and will have to accept a DNF if you do not reach 100 miles within cutoff. If you signed up for the 24hr you will not be allowed to upgrade to the 100 at mile 82 or mile 96. Your official result will be your 24hr distance. If you signed up for the 24hr and wish to drop to the 12hr, you will stay in the 24hr and you can just stop running whenever you want. This is to avoid the unnecessary complications and that arise from mid-race race changes such as unfair changes to podiums after the race is over unbeknownst to runners who believed they made podium. You are not allowed to change races after race registration closes.
Non-Profit Organization
As of 2026 Red Road Racing is officially a non-profit organization with 501c3 status. Your donations will now be tax deductible.
Half Marathon Course
The half marathon provides more of a tour of the reservation roads as it takes you to different ends of the reservation. There will be 4 aid stations with basic aid (water, fruits, small foods) at miles 4.5, 6, 7.5 and mile 10. It is similar double track dirt road and somewhat hilly with about 1500 ft of climb in the half marathon.
Shirts, Medals, Awards
Each participant will receive a race shirt as part of the pre-race materials and a medal upon completion of their race. Top finishers in each race will receive a hand crafted award. 100 mile finishers receive custom made belt buckles. 5k participants do not receive a shirt but do receive a medal.
Fundraising for Cahuilla Band of Indians
100% of the funds not used for putting on the race will go directly to Cahuilla Band of Indians, specifically the Youth and Family Committee.
