Run Trail Ultra

Welcome to the Ultra of your Dreams...

Last Person Standing. One winner, the rest DNF. This Ultra is in the style of Backyard Ultras.

The race is a 6.706 km loop course on gentle trails. You will start at 8:00 am and must complete your lap within that hour.

Exactly one hour after the first starting time, you run another 6.706 km within that hour. This is repeated hourly. The race ends when the last runner or runners either concede or fail to finish the distance within the allotted time frame. You must be at the start line and begin racing when the start whistle is blown. Failure to do so will result in a DNF.

Daydream Option

There is a Prairie Daydream option as an introduction to "Backyard Races" and trail running.

This event is for those that want to just give the "Backyard Ultra" style of event a try!

You still get to run the same 6.706km loop, you still get to start on the hour but in this event you can start at whatever hour you want up to 3pm. You must start by the 3pm loop.(provided there are other runners on the course).

You can run 1 loop or up to 5 loops (consecutively) without any pressure of having to keep pushing past where you want to. Come on out and give this style of racing a go! If the stars align and you want to push past 5 for a few more then inform the onsite RD. Whether you can keep going will be determined by the stage the race is at.

There will be a $20 (race day) charge for those using a trailer and $10 (race day) for those tenting or car camping

Runners:

  1. You will have a designated area for your gear (and crew).

  2. There is camping available for the race weekend. Feel free to setup on Friday night and stay over if you want! No need to check in with the park, just show up and let us know. If you are using a trailer, there will be a $20 (race day) charge for those, $10 for tent/car camping. Find the RD at check-in or at some point during the weekend to pay.

  3. This will be a cupless race. Please ensure you bring your own refillable bottle(s) or cups!

  4. You are expected to supply all your food and drink for the duration of the event. The water at the park is drinkable and could be used if you want.

Pasqua Peaks Trail Race is an opportunity to challenge yourself while enjoying the beautiful autumn vistas of Echo Valley Provincial Park near Fort Qu'Appelle, SK. Whether you choose the 5k, 13k or 26k, our goal is that all runners cross the finish line with a sense of accomplishment and an appreciation for the sport of trail running.

    Race start times will be 10:00 for 26k, 10:30 for 13k, 11:00 for 5k

In 2026, we will distribute proceeds to two local organizations:

Fort Qu’Appelle Community Outreach and Food Bank serves people experiencing poverty with respect and care, helping individuals access the supports they need and fostering trusting relationships among Indigenous and non-Indigenous community members. Their programs include community dinners, food hampers, a Christmas Hamper program, and children’s initiatives such as Secret Backpack—which provides discreet, kid-friendly food packs to selected students each week—and After the Bell, their summer food program for school-aged children.

Echo Valley Trails Advisory Group (EVTAG) is a non-profit organization working in consultation with Echo Valley Provincial Park staff to enhance the development and use of multi-season recreational trails within the park. As we did last year, we will once again provide a small donation to help maintain the trails that everyone will enjoy on race day.
