Celebrate the 29th Anniversary of the Low Tide Ride & Stride with a our 5K Course during the lowest tide of the month on the beach from North Beach down to the end of the Shores and back. Kick off summer with this fun, family-friendly, 5K chip-timed race. Run! Walk! Bike! Stroll! This Coronado signature event takes place along one of the top 10 beaches in the world and provides much needed funds with Local Military and First Responders being the primary beneficiaries. Drop your beach chair in Sunset Park along with your reusable water bottle. After the race, kick back and enjoy LIVE MUSIC, grab a snack, visit local vendors' booths, and more.

    WHY THE 5K COURSE?

If you have participated in past Low Tide Ride & Stride events, you may have noticed military and civilian volunteers lining the beach along the State Park and Navy Base. They were protecting the Least Tern’s nesting grounds. You see, the Least Terns are an endangered species and their numbers continue to dwindle. Even the military must limit their training on the beach during nesting season March – September. According to the Audubon Society, since 1970 we have lost half of all bird populations globally. By keeping the course of the race off of the Amphibious Base, Rotary is protecting critical nesting grounds for the Least Tern and Snowy Plover. We are excited for race course -- less hassle, family friendly, and fun at Sunset Park! We can’t think of a better way to bike, run, walk and celebrate the beginning of summer than the Low Tide Ride & Stride!.

Join us at the birthplace of the sport for the XTERRA Wetsuits Mission Bay Triathlon!

2026 is the 38th annual XTERRA Wetsuits Mission Bay Triathlon benefitting Life Sports Foundation. San Diego is the Birthplace of Triathlon! In 1974, the first Mission Bay Triathlon was as a run-bike-swim-run event on Fiesta Island by the San Diego Track Club. Every year competitors from around the country and from around the world, come to Mission Bay to celebrate the birthplace triathlon. We invite you to become part of this wonderful legacy event and become part of history!

The event offers races for adults and kids, from complete beginners to seasoned Professionals. There are many different races going on simultaneously, and while a traditional Triathlon is Swim / Bike / Run, KOZ Events, the organizer of the San Diego Triathlon Series, offers more of a Multisport Race. Our race is very inclusive and we make triathlon accessible to as many people as possible. We have the traditional Swim/bike/ Run Triathlon but we offer so much more. If you do not like swimming, we have the Duathlon which is a Run/ Bike/ Run, if you don’t want to bike then choose the Aquathlon Swim / Run, or if you don’t want to run choose the Aquabike Swim/Bike. We even have a Mini Distance Triathlon for beginners that want to try out the sport. We even offer free training groups every week to help people get started, train, and get connected to the San Diego Triathlon Community.
