Stop, drop, and RUN!

Welcome to the 3nd annual Champaign Firefighters Local 1260 5K race! Grab your friends and family to run or walk the local Carle at the Fields trail! This is a chip timed 3.1mi route that winds through the distinctive Southwest Champaign area including many local businesses, parks, and of course, fire station.

This local race seeks to support the Champaign Firefighters Benevolent Fund, which was created in 2022 as a new charitable organization. The mission of the Champaign Firefighters Benevolent Fund is to honor the sacrifice of the family members of our fallen brothers and sisters; to support active and retired Local 1260 members and their families; to support other firefighters and their families in Illinois and beyond; and, to provide financial support to community members and/or groups locally.

This is a flat, paved path.

Participants who register before May 31st will receive a official race t-shirt!

Free parking in the Health Alliance parking lot is available!

Shirts and Bibs may be picked up the morning of the race near start/finish line.

New for 2026, this year will be chip timed!

Registration closes at 5PM Saturday Race Weekend. No registration will be permitted after this time.

COURSE MAPS: Please review the course maps before the race. It is your duty to know the course. The run course is marked with signs, cones and chalk. If you do not see a sign, cone or chalk/spray arrow keep going straight. There will also be volunteers on course as well.

The Champaign‑Urbana Special Recreation Cupcake 5K is more than a race — it’s a celebration of inclusion, ability, and community. This timed, accessible event finishes with a well-earned cupcake and supports the CUSR Scholarship Fund.

These scholarships ensure that individuals with disabilities in OUR community CAN participate in life-enriching recreation programs regardless of financial barriers. We are proud of the impact this program creates, and we invite YOU to be part of the momentum that makes it possible.

Get ready for an unforgettable day of energy, community, and sweet celebration!

The 27th annual Rattlesnake Master Run for the Prairie includes a 10K and 5K run and 5K walk that benefits Grand Prairie Friends, a non-profit land trust and conservation group in central Illinois. This race circles the beautiful 130-acre Meadowbrook Park and prairie in Urbana, Illinois and includes some trail running. It offers a low entry fee, race medals, optional t-shirts, music, and friendly volunteers.

If you can't attend the race in person, support Grand Prairie Friends and participate in our virtual races. Run the distance you want, where and when you want and report your time by Nov 2 on RunSignUp. Virtual race times will be posted but not considered for medals.

Regulations:

• No dogs, strollers, or hiking poles

• No refunds. This is a "RAIN OR SHINE" race.

• Applicable state and local COVID guidelines will apply

Packet Pickup: Race packets available noon-4pm on Saturday, Nov 1 at Body n' Sole, 1317 Dunlap, Savoy, IL (217-356-8926).

Packets also available on race day from 8-8:45am at the Garden Pavilion in Meadowbrook Park near the Race Street Parking Lot.
