    Our Mission

In celebration of the 81st Anniversary of Korean Liberation Day, participating teams will work together to complete 81.5 km.

More important than individual results is the opportunity to run together, support one another, and reflect on the meaning of liberation and freedom.

As we remember the sacrifices and courage of those who secured Korea's independence 81 years ago, we come together to run, encourage, and achieve this goal as one team.

What began as a joke between friends living near Fraser Street became Vancouver's most community-driven run club. Founded in November 2013 by Michelle, Jesse, Cody, and Kat, Fraser Street Run Club has grown to more than 100 runners who believe in keeping it social, sustainable, and open to everyone. The crew attracts people of all levels who love trails, city streets, and the conversations that happen along the way. Every Friday at 7 PM from East 17th Ave and Tuesdays at the Eric Hamber Track, the same philosophy guides them: get people moving and keep the community strong.

In April 2014, a few Vancouver runners training for a half-marathon discovered something unexpected: post-run beers tasted better when shared. What started as a casual reward after training sessions quickly evolved into East Van Run Crew, founded by Ryan as a gathering place where running meets friendship and laughter. Today, EVRC anchors Vancouver's running culture with radical inclusivity at its core. Every Monday, the crew assembles at a rotating local brewery for group runs that double as social adventures, mixing trail time with community connection. There's no hierarchy here, no pressure to chase splits or PRs. Instead, EVRC celebrates movement for movement's sake, drawing runners of every pace and experience level into a space where judgment dissolves and camaraderie thrives. Beyond the weekly runs, the crew organizes grassroots charity races that funnel energy back into the neighborhoods they love. East Van Run Crew has become proof that running is never just about the miles, it's about who you run them with.

Ice Cream & Donut Run Club started with a single question in July 2018: what if you ran to ice cream and donut shops instead of just past them? Founder Karen turned that idea into Vancouver's sweetest running community, now 450 members strong. The crew explores the city's best ice creameries and donuteries on foot, with every run ending in a treat. Saturday afternoons at 2pm, two routes mean everyone belongs, whether you're a Boston Marathoner tackling the 8k or a first-time runner savoring the 5k. Nobody gets left behind, and nobody has ever complained about the philosophy: run hard, run far, or run easy, then reward yourself.
