10k 5k Run

Welcome to the BROOKLYNITE FALL 10K & 5K! Join our brave and powerful athletes ready to run and celebrate the fall running season along New York Bay! Choose from among 2 distances: 5K or 10K. This is one of the most historic river fronts in the nation. We look forward to seeing you there early. To make sure all goes well here are some important points to remember:

START TIME: 9:00 AM

PACKET PICK UP:

From: 8:00 AM so that you can pick up your shirt, bib, and timing tag. BRING PICTURE ID!

You need to know your Bib number as bibs are given in numerical order. Also, you can drop off your valuables, warm up, and make any final preparations before the start.

LOCATION: American Veteran Memorial Pier, 6904 Shore Rd., Bay Ridge Brooklyn

Access by going under the overpass off Shore Rd. and continue to the Pier.

BEWARE THAT THE PATH HAS A LANE FOR CYCLISTS AND ANOTHER FOR PEDESTRIANS. YOU AND YOUR FANS NEED TO BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN CROSSING THESE LANES! THE PARK IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! HEADPHONES ARE NOT ALLOWED AS YOU HAVE TO BE AWARE OF YOUR ENVIRONMENT.

PARKING:

You can find parking on Shore Parkway.

PERSONAL ITEMS AREA:

Drop off your bags, coats, etc. in our personal items area for a safe and dry place to keep your items. The items will be secure and managed by one of our great volunteers.

COURSE:

10K - 2 loops

UTURN 1: Approximately 1.59 Miles from Start

UTURN 2: A tenth of a mile from the Start Line.

5K - 1 loop

UTURN: 1.55 Miles from Start

START & FINISH @ American Veteran Memorial Pier

It’s a 1 LOOP course for the 5K and a 2 loop course for the 10K along the Shore. You start running South and u-turn at 2nd water station. Where the U-turn sign is. Head back North towards the start/finish area and U-turn and head back South. Complete 3 loops and then finish. We will direct you to the start location on race day. Miles markers will be placed for every mile. Water tables will be placed at three locations on the loop providing you with 2-4 opportunities to pick up electrolyte drinks, water, and gels. Each will have music to keep you going.

TIMING:

You MUST wear your BIB on your front torso to assure that you get timed. You will go over a timing mat for each loop so that you get timing splits for every loop. LIVE! Every time you go over the timing mat your time will be uploaded to our results page. www.citytri.com/results. Share this link with your family and they will see your time as you complete each loop.

AWARDS CEREMONY:

We have two ceremonies, first for the top 3 male and female OVERALL. Shortly after we hold the age group ceremony. Live timing allows us to start the ceremony quickly so do not leave without your award or have a friend hold it for you. We do not mail awards.

TRANSFER OUT TO ANOTHER EVENT.

If you cannot make it and didn't buy insurance protection, we have you covered. Pay a $25 transfer fee and choose another event from our calendar. You can complete this online by logging into your active.com account, selecting "my events" find the Brooklynite Summer Half Marathon event, and you will see the option to transfer out.

YOUR FANS:

The best place for them to watch is at the UTURN located near the Finish line and then the Finish Line (Remember they must be careful when crossing the bike path as there is a lane for cyclists!) They’ll see you pass for each loop! So, prepare them to get their cheer on! We’ll pass out some cheer equipment as well, cowbells, horns, etc.

Pictures and videos uploaded shortly after the event. Live chip timing, live streamed on YouTube, and live digital tracking so friends and family can watch you from anywhere.

    Race Start Time and Location:

On 4/11/26, NYTri is coming to Brooklyn to host our 37th Annual Spring Duathlon in Prospect Park. Prospect Park is always a special place for us because we are from Brooklyn! In 2024, we have added the entire outer park look for your second run, all 3.3 miles (5k). We are racing the same course once again this year. Your final lap of the run will be around the big loop completing all 3.3 miles, with a total of 140ft elevation gain. Be ready because the hill to the Grand Army Plaza is no joke!

Here is what you can expect on race day. At 7:30 am the race will start in Lincoln Field by the triangle grass area by the Well House Dr (E Lake Dr and Lincoln Rd entrance).

Run #1 beginning at 7:30 am is a fast loop around the park’s inner circle. Athletes will set out along East Dr and make a left through Center Dr, where you will cut across the park, exiting west side. With little gain in elevation you’ll head around Prospect Park Lake where you will pick up speed as you head in for the bike.

The bike route consists of 3 loops totaling 10 miles around Prospect Park Drive. As athletes make their way up to the Grand Army Plaza you will encounter the full PP hill on the front end and a HUGE downhill on the back of each loop. After 3 of these loops make sure you save energy to take on the same course for the run!

Run #2: The final leg of this course! Athletes will run the entire 3.3 mile PP loop. Finishing the run course with a 140ft+ elevation gain. Athletes will cross the finish line at the same place we started, in Lincoln Field.

Remember to read our Race FAQs if you haven’t done so.

    Prospect Park Spring Duathlon distance:

Run distance is 2.1 miles (small loop).

Bike distance is 10 miles (3 laps).

Run distance is 3.3 miles (full loop).

    Volunteers:

You are needed from 5 am to 11 am. Our races start at 7:30 am unless stated the otherwise. Once you arrived, report to our Race Director Victor. He will go over your race duty as well as where you need to be. Don’t leave until the race is finished. You have to sign out to earn your race credit for your next race.

The Prospect Park Spring Duathlon is not USAT certified or sanctioned. USAT racing license isn’t required to compete in our race.

Forget the frantic pace of the race clock and the crowded corrals - The JURCs 2026 10K/10M 5-Borough Series is bringing a different kind of energy to the pavement. From April through September, we’re hosting 5 laid-back, community-first tours of NYC that’s more about the miles and the memories than the podium. Whether you’re looking to cruise through a scenic 10K or stretch your legs with a steady 10-Miler, or even a easy 5K walk/run, these runs are designed to let you soak in the local flavor of every borough at your own speed. No timing chips, no pressure, just great routes, better company, and a shared journey toward those running goals.

We are kicking off the season on Staten Island, the home of the Wu-Tang Clan, with the first of our runs. Please meet us at the parking lot by 7:30 AM; wheels up (and feet moving!) at 8:00 AM sharp.

Please note: this will not be a race, but instead a collaborative long run. To keep things low-key and focused on the miles, we will not be providing bibs or timing the run. We encourage everyone to track their own miles on Strava or Garmin.

    Course Map: Staten Island

5-Borough Series T-Shirts: There is one exclusive design for the entire series available for a one-time cost of $25. To order, please select your size and submit payment via any of the options below. Shirts will be distributed before each run.
