In January 2021, two lifelong friends named Andrea and Alessandro turned their shared marathon training into something bigger. Tired of solitary runs, they opened their circle to locals in Senigallia, Italy, and watched a casual group become a genuine community. Today, Velvet Runners gathers roughly ten members, marathoners, joggers, newcomers, all bound by the belief that running matters less for splits and more for the people beside you. The crew meets weekly along the Adriatic seafront and through the Senigallia Hills, routes that blend salty coastal air with lush green climbs. No membership fees, no entry requirements, just an open invitation to anyone ready to find friends on the road. Their presence has become woven into Senigallia's social fabric, proof that small, intentional communities can shift how a city moves.
