1 Miles 13.1 Miles 50 Miles 50k Run Trail Ultra

Saturday, February 13, 2027.

Rocky Raccoon got so big a few years ago we ended up splitting the 50 mile and 50km distances onto the following weekend. We also have a half marathon now! So now the Rocky 50 Trail Race Is a stand alone event. If you want to run your first ultra, or you want to run a really fast and scenic trail race, this is your course. Just enough change in elevation to be considered a real trail run, lots of exposed tree roots, beautiful pine trees with their needles nestled under your feet, cool bridges, a gorgeous east Texas lake, wildlife, and a wonderful set of aid stations and volunteers.

While every racer will get some cool swag, January 5 is the deadline to get a shirt. If you register after January 5, you will get some cool Race Swag! This could be a variety of items like a trucker cap, neck gaiter, etc. It will be a cool Swag Item!

The Peyton Irwin Foundation is having its 5th annual run/walk....a great race for an even greater cause!! Peyton loved pineapples, therefore leading us to name this run the Pineapple Run. Join us as we bring awareness to the dangers of distracted driving.

All proceeds benefit the Peyton Irwin Foundation in their mission of educating others on the dangers of distracted driving and awarding students with scholarships.

ALL LEVELS AND ALL AGES ARE WELCOME!

The “WHY” behind the Pineapple Run

On March 29, 2019, Peyton Irwin was traveling to San Antonio Texas to support her Alma Mater Drill Team at a state competition. Unfortunately, Peyton never made it to the event because she, along with three other passengers in the vehicle, was killed by a distracted driver. The driver of the vehicle was on the phone texting - not seeing the stopped car Peyton was in - and applied his brakes just .06 seconds prior to hitting their vehicle while traveling approximately 60 miles per hour. It is so important to educate people on the dangers of texting, social media, handling phones, and other distractions while driving a vehicle. Had he been paying attention, he could have seen them and slowed down, or swerved to miss them. We want to prevent this from happening to anyone else! Thank you for participating in this year’s event to help us spread awareness of the dangers of distracted driving.

Known as the perfect trail running course for veteran runners wanting a 100mile P.R., as well as the perfect race for rookie ultra runners wanting a good setup to accomplish their goal. Expect frequent and incredible (known around the world) aid station support all day and night. Generous cut-offs. A fun atmosphere for family, friends, and awaiting crew members with 5 x 20 mile beautiful loops around the lake, over wooden bridges, and through the tall pines. Gently undulating trails on a bed of pine needles. Don't let the name fool you, you don't have to worry about rocks on this course, but keep your eyes on the tree roots grabbing at your feet.

While every racer will get some cool swag, January 5 is the deadline to get a shirt. If you register after Jan. 5, you will get some cool Race Swag. This could be a variety of items like a trucker cap, neck gaiter, etc. It will be a cool Swag Item!
