The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K welcomes runners, ruckers, and walkers of all ages and fitness levels to honor the heroes of 9/11 and those who've served our nations since. We activate & unite communities and empower local veterans, active duty, first responders, and families of the fallen.

TMF is proud to partner with GORUCK again with rucking divisions at every run. Rucking is a sport based on special forces training in which participants walk or run while carrying weighted rucksacks. All participants registered for the GORUCK division will earn this year's exclusive TMF GORUCK patch. Learn more about GORUCK here.

Ville to Ville is going Coastal! After eight years of running in the Upstate & Western NC, we are adding a new one-day team running relay in the Lowcountry!

Registration Update: We have just under 40 team spots available!

The Ville to Ville Coastal Relay celebrates the South Carolina Lowcountry, spanning roughly 70 miles from Summerville to Mount Pleasant. Teams will wind through historic Charleston, barrier islands, and marshland before finishing with a scenic view of the Cooper River.

The inaugural Ville to Ville Coastal Relay kicks off on October 17, 2026. The first wave of teams will depart from Summerville, SC, at 5:00 am, with additional flights scheduled throughout the morning to begin their journey across the Lowcountry.

Each team of three to six runners will complete 12 relay legs, spanning 3–9 miles each, and will be supported by their own race vehicle, which will shuttle runners to and from designated transition points along the course.

By late afternoon, teams will cross the finish line in Mount Pleasant at the Lawn at Ferry Wharf between 3-7 pm, where the celebration begins, complete with live music, food, and refreshing brews to toast the day’s adventure.

    Team Payments

All teams will be required to pay a $300 deposit during their initial registration and may choose to pay the full $775 fee. Teams that only pay the deposit must pay the remaining team fee ($475) by midnight on July 15, 2026. Teams with unpaid fees as of July 16, 2026, will forfeit their spot in the race and their non-refundable deposit. Team rosters should be finalized by September 8, 2026. A 5.5% processing fee applies to all online payments.

    Race Theme - Family Vacations

Get ready to hit the road! This year’s relay theme is Family Vacations! Think beach weeks, road trips, matching tees, packed coolers, and classic stops along the way. Dress up, decorate those vans, and bring your favorite vacation memories to life out on the course!

    Packet Pickup & Welcome Reception

Friday, October 16, 2026 - Holy City Brewing, North Charleston, 3-7 pm

    Saturday, October 17, 2026 - Starting Line

*Only captains or a team representative are required to attend the packet pickup event, but all participants are welcome to attend.

    Age Requirements

All runners must be 21 or older to participate in the Ville to Ville Coastal Relay.

    Team Name

Be creative, but keep it classy. Your team name will appear in lots of public places, so make sure it would make your mother proud. You will submit your team name during registration, but you can change it until September 8, 2026.

    Team Categories

Open Co-ed (minimum of 2 females)

Open (all-male team or all males plus 1 female)

    Open Female (all females)

Masters (all-male team or all males plus 1 female, all members 40+)

Masters Female (all females, all members 40+)

Masters Co-ed (minimum of 2 females, all members 40+)

*Team categories will be chosen during registration, but they can be changed until race weekend. Team sizes can be from 3-6 team members.

    Team Captain

Each team will have a team captain (we will initially use the name and contact info of the person registering). We will provide regular race information and updates to the team captain on our Captain Resources page and in monthly email newsletters. Team Captains can be transferred to another person at any point. Existing captains should email [email protected] and Cc the new captain if they request a change of captain.

    Team Pace

To make it to the post-race party in one day, the team must maintain a pace of 11:30 minutes per mile or less. This doesn’t mean everyone on the team has to run at this pace, but it does mean that if you have slower team members, you will need faster ones to keep your team on track.

The team captain will estimate the team's pace when registering. Additionally, each runner will provide a 10K pace estimate when joining the team. Final team pace estimates will be due on September 8, 2026. Visit our team resources page to access our pace calculator, which can help with your estimation.

    Cancellation & Weather

This is a rain-or-shine event. The race director reserves the right to modify the course or event due to inclement weather or state restrictions.
